It’s Thursday, and time to play with the Pals at Pals Paper Arts! This week, we have a soft and gorgeous trio of colors with which to work: Pink Pirouette, Pistachio Pudding, Soft Sky. I decided to indulge in a little faux watercoloring, and pulled out my Blender Pens and inks. Enjoy!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This folded card measures 4-1/4″ wide and 5-1/2″ long.
Blender Pen Beauty! The flowers from Butterfly Basics were faux watercolored using Blender Pens, Pink Pirouette and Pistachio Pudding inks. Tips: Use StazOn ink, and make certain your Blender Pen is wet. Remove a smidge of color, before working on your image…you can always add more color if the hue is too light!
Black Butterflies! The Butterfly images were inked with Memento Black ink, and then stamped off once before stamping onto Whisper White cardstock. The coordinating punch and die makes easy work of punching them out. Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a few pearls. (Please note: The Butterfly Thinlits Die 137360 is temporarily not orderable.)
Beautiful Bow! A Whisper White Organza bow adds a touch of texture. As always, I used my old-school cardboard bowmaker! THIS VIDEO (from my archives) gives you the dimensions in case you want to make your own bowmaker.

Although I have not been one, many people have experienced quality issues with the Blendabilities product line. Due to the nature of the defect, the manufacturer is unable to correct the problem in a manner that would meet Stampin’ Up!’s high quality standards. Therefore, after a great deal of deliberation and in order to prevent further disappointment, the Blendabilities product line has been discontinued. As of this date, all of my customers have received their Blendabilities. If you experience problems with them and you ordered them through me, please email me for assistance. Q: Will the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad (item #132708) and the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad Refill (item #133456) still be available for purchase? A: Yes. These items will continue to be available for purchase.
Q: What are the quality problems with this product? A: When the tip is welded to the barrel, the welding process can leave microscopic (invisible) holes in the marker tip. This leads to accelerated evaporation of the alcohol in the ink.
Q: Are all Blendabilities markers defective? A: No. Most Blendabilities markers work as intended. I personally have not experienced any quality issue, but I am aware others have.

Today is a special day at The Stampin’ Schach! I am the Guest Stamper at Stampin’ Pretty…Mary Fish’s fabulous blog. I have been a member of the Stampin’ Pretty Pals for six years, and I could not ask for a better mentor than Mary. Although our styles are polar opposites, we both share an intense love of Stampin’ Up!
Today’s card is a prototype of one I am designing for March’s Lesson of the Month, which will feature the Moon Lake stamp set. It’s watercolored with Aqua Painters, and features “stacked” images. Enjoy!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ by 4-1/4″ when folded.
Watercolor! Watercoloring is one of my favorite techniques. For this card, the image was inked in Jet Black StazOn and stamped onto Watercolor Paper. I then used Aqua Painters with Pear Pizzazz, Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky and Soft Suede inks to color the image. To add depth, the image was stamped a second time onto watercolor paper and then glued to Coaster Board. The boat and the tree were watercolored, snipped out, and adhered to the first image.
Tendrils! A Sahara Sand Lace bow is accented with a single strand of Gold Sequins, and tendrils made from Linen Thread. To see how I make my double bows, click HERE to watch the Double Bow Video from my archives.
Pearls! Pearls are used to accent the background, which was created using the Simply Scored tool and Diagonal Plate. A few Crumb Cake speckles, courtesy of the Gorgeous Grunge set were added just for fun!
