The Stamp Review Crew: Sprinkles of Life Edition

Sprinkles-of-Life-bannerIt’s time for another round of inspiration from The Stamp Review Crew. If this is your very first visit, we are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first and third Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us features the same stamp set. The result is you see the versatility of the set and the amazing things you can create with it. This week we are featuring this year’s Ronald McDonald House Charities set, Sprinkles of Life. I am Stop #10 on the hop. You may have just left Stop #9: the talented Jessica Williams. Enjoy today’s hop!

IMG_2631The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Sprinkles of Life Glassine Gift Bag

  • Glassine! The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits were used to create a gift bag out of Stampin’ Up!’s new Glassine Sheets.  A Soft Sky insert was made using the Polka Dot pattern from the Subtles Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stack.  The color is softened just enough to contrast with the adorable cupcake tag.

  • Glitter! Pink Piroutte icing was highlighted using Dazzling Details Stampin’ Glitter.  Of course, the new Tree Builder Punch coordinates with this set.  How cool is that!

IMG_2616

  • Sequins! Blushing Bride Sequins add the perfect touch of bling, especially when paired with Silver 1/8″ Ribbon and Metal Rimmed Pearls!

  • Doilies! Tea Lace Paper Doilies make the perfect backdrop for the Soft Sky tag. Of course, everything looks better with pearls, so a few more Metal Rimmed Pearls were added to the edge for a touch of elegance.

I hope you enjoyed today’s little treat bag.  While I won’t be slipping edible treats into it, I will be slipping in a gift card. I think it will work fine…how about you? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  Of course, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Now hop along to Stop #11 Holly Krautkremer.  I absolutely adore Holly’s work, and I know you will, too.  If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of all the hoppers at The Stamp Review Crew.  Until next time…

Vintage Leaves for The Paper Players

IMG_2610It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week we have a theme challenge for you:  The Great Outdoors! Anything that you find outdoors is fair game.  I elected to go with leaves, and inked up the Vintage Leaves stamp set for the very first time.  I hope you enjoy today’s card!

This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Leaves!  No fussy cutting is necessary for this foliage!  Leaflets framelits coordinate with this set.  How easy is that!

  • Layers!  Dijon Bohemian Designer Series Paper looks “delightful” with  Always Artichoke, Delightful Dijon and Chocolate Chip cardstock.  Don’t you just love this simple pattern?

  • Friend! The “FRIEND” sentiment from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set is quickly becoming my favorite sentiment for the outside of the cards I create. I then select an appropriate greeting to fit the occasion for the inside…or I write a personal message.

IMG_2610-002I was anxious to ink up the Vintage Leaves set to see how it compared with the retired French Foliage and Gently Falling sets.   I think it will be a perfect set for fall cards, and one which will be quite versatile. I already have several more designs in mind for when the Stamp Review Crew features it in September.  And speaking of the Stamp Review Crew, we will be featuring the Sprinkles of Life set as my second post later today. So stop in again!

As always, your comments are important to me.  Won’t you let me know what you think of today’s card? And of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…
