Weekly Deals, Retired Items and Boxers

Weekly Deals
March 1 – 7, 2016

It’s Tuesday, and time for the Weekly Deals! My personal favorites are the Tin of Cards Project Kit and the Red Foil Sheets.  I held a Tin of Cards class this winter and it was a big hit.  I loved the cards so much that I ordered a second kit, which my son, Brady, and I put together.  He LOVES kits!  As for the Red Foil, now is the time to stock up for holiday cards!  It’s never too early!

Lots of Stuff words in illustrated 3d letters surrounded by piles and stacks of cardboard boxes in a disorganized mess

Help!  I STILL have too much retired stuff! Stuff that has overrun the music room.  Stuff that has invaded Brady’s bedroom.  And stuff which seems to be cloning itself in the recesses of my basement studio.

I have consolidated all of the retired items I currently have for sale into one easy document.  Here is the link:

Retired Stampin’ Up Items for Sale

The list will be updated daily as items are sold. Please send an email (ann@thestampinschach.com OR kimschach@msn.com) if you are interested in making a purchase. In your email, include the name of the items you are wanting to purchase and your zip code so I can calculate postage for you.

All items will be sold on a first come, first served basis, as determined by the date and time of your email. I can only mail to US addresses. I will accept both checks and PayPal, but please allow time for personal checks to clear unless you have ordered from me before.

Remember, postal rates have increased and some items, like dies, are heavy. However, I will try to find the least expensive method of mailing for you.

Please…help me reclaim my lost space!

Boxer Fun

The last three times Jackie has been in the ring, he has been named Reserve Winners Dog.  His time is coming!  Let’s hope it’s this weekend at the Greater St. Louis Boxer Club Specialty in Gray Summit, MO!  Enjoy these pictures of Anscha-Happy Tail’s You Don’t Know Jack.

Of course, show dogs must be in tip-top physical shape.  Here is Jackie working out on the treadmill.

Jackie knows that cuddle time is important to one’s mental well-being…especially when it’s with a beloved family member like Uncle Brody.

One should never forget the importance of being in harmony with nature. Jackie takes the time to watch birds at the window every day.

Play time is also good for one’s soul. How about a little hide and seek, Jackie style! “I’m hiding, now find me!”

And the end result of such a balanced life is a handsome young man!

Picture Perfect for Pals Paper Arts and Kia Kuteness

IMG_5720

It’s time for another sketch from Pals Paper Arts!  This week, team member Amy Lazzell provided us with this lovely sketch.  I LOVE square cards.  Since sketches that feature focal circles like this make me reach for flowers, I pulled out the Picture Perfect stamp set and inked it up for the first time.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.

This finished card measure 5-1/4″ square when folded.

Triple Step Stamping is a breeze with photopolymer stamps.  For these gorgeous flowers, I used Cherry Cobbler ink.  For the more detailed image (designated #3 in the set) , I used Cherry Cobbler full strength.  Image #2 was stamped off once, while image #1 was stamped off twice.  I actually stamped them in that order…darkest to lightest.  Of course, you know me and pearls. I could not resist adding a few to the middle of each flower.  The leaves were stamped in Old Olive, following the same stamping off protocol.

The Bird was stamped in Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Cherry Cobbler.  A pearl graces his eye. To make it appear as if he is hovering above the flowers, he is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Originally I was not going to add a sentiment to this card, but as I was creating it, and as it took on “it’s life”, I thought this would be the perfect card to give to Jackie’s handler, Amy.  Over the years, through her handling of Muffy, Lexi and the Mini-Muffins, Amy has become a trusted friend.  She loves my babies as if they were her own.  Upon many occasions, I have placed their lives in her capable hands.  At sometime over the years, she has become more than just a professional acquaintance.  She has become a daughter, a sister, a niece as well as a trusted friend.  Truly our hearts decide who is family…

IMG_5720-002Kia Kuteness

Little “KiKi”  has been away from the show scene while we are waiting for her to mature.  But that doesn’t mean she has not been honing her show dog skills.  What better way to learn how the big dogs do it than by watching the Westminster Dog Show.  I snapped a few picture of her with my phone Tuesday night while I was in the basement working.  (Please excuse the mess…I have tons of things boxed up to send because of my retired stamp sale.)

First, she starts out standing right in front of the TV.  She was watching the Sporting Group.

IMG_5722

Of course, a little girl gets tired standing for so long.  So she reverted to sitting and watching.

IMG_5727And finally she ends up lying down, but still glued to the show.

IMG_5728Of course, once in awhile, one just has to get a closer look.  The Neapolitan Mastiff required closer examination. Just look at her head tilt, as she tries to figure out what the heck kind of dog this is.

IMG_5730IMG_5731She is really watching his down and back.  How does he look, Kia?

Jackie, on the other hand, was content to rest his head on Uncle Brody, and dream about being at Westminster some day…

Jackie and I are on the road this weekend, heading to Des Moines.  Our goal is to have fun, although Jackie LOVES shopping for new toys.  And this scamp usually charms the vendors into freebies.  What a scam artist! But who can resist this face:

Retired Items, Weekly Deals and a Muffy Update

Lots of Stuff words in illustrated 3d letters surrounded by piles and stacks of cardboard boxes in a disorganized mess

Yep…that’s me.  I have lots of retired stuff.  I accumulated all that stuff because I did not sell stamp sets and paper and ink and Big Shot items and ribbon and embellishments and tools and so on and so forth when they retired.  I have tons of sets, many of which were never used.   I would see an adorable card someone created and I just HAD to buy the set to make it.  You know what I mean.  But life would get in the way, the set would never be inked up, and the card was never made.  It’s embarrassing in a way.  But I have to clear these things out.  So  I would love to have my stuff become your stuff.

I have consolidated all of the retired items I currently have for sale into one easy document.  Here is the link:

Muffy Update

I would like to thank all of you for your emails asking about Muffy’s progress.  I am happy to report she is doing fine! In just a few more days she will be cleared to go up and down stairs…and in 6 more days, she will be allowed to run, jump and play.  Brody visited with her yesterday, while Lexi snuggled up with her on this cold, gray Iowa day.

IMG_5670

Muffy was thrilled to have a little canine companionship.   However, the rambunctious Mini-Muffins, Jack and Kia, are still isolated from their mom.  We just can’t risk having them jump on her.  Plus, I am still sleeping on the floor with her…and you can believe I am counting down the days until she can jump up into our bed.

As always, if you have any questions about Stampin’ Up!, the cards I create and the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…
