Nailed It for Freshly Made Sketches

In the midst of preparing for an impending ice storm, which is set to hit here Sunday, I managed to ink up the Nailed It stamp set for the first time. Oh my gosh! This was a bundle I had reservations in purchasing, but now that I have played with it, I LOVE it. The Urban Underground Designer Series Paper and Embellishments are the perfect choices for this set. And I can’t say enough about the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I wish you could see these hexagons in person.  They are amazing! The sketch for today’s card comes from one of my favorite challenges, Freshly Made Sketches.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ when folded.

Watercolor Pencils rule! I colored the Screwdriver image using the Daffodil Delight and Basic Grey pencils.  To add a little more shading, I added Delightful Dijon ink using a Blender Pen.

The adorable Ruler was created with the Build It framelits and Silver Foil.  You can also get an idea in this picture of the deep impressions made with the Hexagons Dynamic Folder.

Of course, with a Screwdriver image, you just have to have Screws!  Enter the Urban Underground Embellishments.  How cute are these!

In keeping with the theme, I selected the “Sorry I screwed up” sentiment.  But I think I will switch it out later for one of our many “Happy Birthday” sentiments, and use this as a masculine birthday card.

I cut the Label die cut from the Build It framelits out twice: once from Very Vanilla card stock and once from a snippet of Urban Underground Designer Paper.  I cut the designer paper one in half, and adhered it to the back of the sentiment label, just for a little extra oomph!

Hot Air Balloons Just for Fun

Oh my gosh!  It has been a busy time here at The Stampin’ Schach!  However, I did get time to play with the hot air balloons from Stampin’ Up!’s new Lift Me Up stamp set and Up & Away Thinlits Dies.  What fun! I hope you enjoy today’s card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ when folded.

Be selective! The two smaller hot air balloons were selectively inked using Night of Navy and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Markers.  Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a few Rhinestones for sparkle.  I rarely use the strips, so this seemed like a perfect time to use up some of my stash!

The larger hot air balloon was easy to make.  Using the appropriate Up & Away Thinlits, I crafted it from Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Watermelon Wonder and Night of Navy card stocks.  My big tip is to use the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the layers to the Balloon “frame”.

To add depth, the large balloon was “popped” up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The cloud placement really adds to the perspective.

For those of you who may want to give this card a try, the Soft Sky panel measures 3-1/8″ wide and 4-3/8″ long.  The Night of Navy mat is 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″.  The Lift Me Up Clear Mount bundle, 144712, costs $45.75.  Just add the Fine Tip Glue Pen, and qualify for a free Sale-A-Bration product.  My suggestion would be the Carried Away Designer Series Paper, 143608.  It is made to coordinate with this bundle, and is oh so cute!
