It’s time for the Festive Friday Challenge, where every challenge is a party! For FF0007, we are honoring Mother’s Day, which is celebrated on May 13. The twist this challenge is “And/Or Pink”. You can create a Mother’s Day card, or a card featuring the color pink, or a pink Mother’s Day card! Any way you decide to create is fine with us! We would love to have you play along, so don’t forget to link up.

This week I created a pink card designed with my mother in mind.  Although she passed away many years ago, sometimes I will find myself sitting … thinking … missing her.

This clean and cute card is surprisingly simple to create.  Watercolor washes provide the back drop for the adorable bulldog reposing on a die cut bench.

Don’t you adore the quizzical look on this pup’s face? I love bulldogs.

I’m also in love with this potted plant.  I wouldn’t mind having a few of these for my back porch! Of course, every plant deserves a Share What You Love Artisan Pearl, available in the new catalog.  A double Powder Pink bow and snippet of ribbon was added as a finishing touch.

It’s time for the Stamp Review Crew: Truly Tailored Edition! If this is your very first visit to one of our hops, the Stamp Review Crew is a group of international Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first, third and fifth Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us features the same stamp set used in a variety of ways, giving you loads of inspiration for that set. The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog. A Masculine Joy Fold Card

The Truly Tailored set is a masculine set which will be retiring at the end of May.   I fell in love with the True Gentleman Suite, to which this set belongs, especially the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper.  To showcase two of my favorite patterns of this paper, I decided to pair them with my favorite sentiment from the set, in a classic joy fold card … or in this case, a “boy fold” card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card is a Joy Fold design.  One of the best tutorials for creating this fold can be found HERE on Splitcoaststampers. I find this design is perfect for showing off designer papers, like these fabulous plaid and gambler stripe patterns.

The sentiment was selectively inked using Stampin’ Write Markers, and cut out using a circular Stitched Shapes framelit.

As I mentioned previously, I LOVE these papers.  Earlier this year, I created a similar card using them.
