Let’s hear it for the boys! How about a relaxing masculine card for someone who deserves to take a break? It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week the amazing Stef is hosting our Theme Challenge. I love that she has selected the theme of “Masculine” for us. Although florals are my favorite cards to make, I also love to make masculine cards. My husband’s birthday is this month so this theme is a timely one for me. He has been working so hard on remodeling our basement, he definitely needs time to relax. I created this little relaxing waterside scene for him. I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But before you head off to gather your stamps, papers and inks, please stop by and leave my incredible Design Teammates, who work so hard to inspire you weekly, some “Comment Love”. It brightens our day!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
The Waterside Retreat Suite is perfect for making masculine cards. The Designer Series paper has a variety of delightful little scenes that are wonderful for creating a relaxing landscape, especially when used with the images and dies found in the Relaxing Waterside bundle. I used the stamps to add an Adirondack chair, a mug of coffee, a book opened to where the reading was left off, and birds. Each of these images had a coordinating die. No fussy cutting was necessary. Extra cattails were die cut from Old Olive and Pecan Pie cardstock to add dimension. Of course, the Relax sentiment was perfect! I can’t wait to hand this to my husband for his birthday.

I love the light, breezy feel of this card Ann and you used that DSP to build a lovely relaxing scene. Gorgeous!
We Oregonians don’t go to “the beach” or “the shore”, we go to “the coast”. It’s a beautiful coastline, filled with firs, cedars and madrona trees with abundant salmon berries and ferns. Just don’t go swimming in the Pacific Ocean…chilly! Your card reminded me that it’s only an hour drive from my home here in the Willamette Valley to Lincoln City and the ocean surf. Thanks, Ann!
Ann, I swear I can feel the sea breeze against my skin, and hear the gulls! What a wonderful use of this gorgeous DSP. I love that you created an almost picture window feel with your layout. Fabulous card, my friend

Fantastic. I can smell the air and feel the breeze.
I felt relaxed the moment I looked at this card! The inviting scene, the water and, of course, a half-open book make this perfect. I like the border at the top and bottom of the scene too – it’s like it’s giving us a window into a peaceful world.
Ann, I would love to be lounging in this chair. I love this fabulous beach scene you created. The square card is fun and the cattails, birds and book are great details. I know Kim will appreciate this amazing work of art. Have a beautiful week, My Friend!
I’ll bet your husband has indeed been busy remodeling the basement after the flooding fiasco, so he certainly deserves time to relax. Such a fabulous card, Ann, I love the added details like the book and the cattails. Just looking at the scene is relaxing in and of itself! I hope he has a great birthday too!
Very nice card, Ann, I love how you built the scene with the DSP background and all the die cut elements. My husband needs to learn to relax too, he was fixing the dishwasher the same day he spent hours in the ER in the morning because he’d pinched a nerve in his back and could barely walk, he just can’t seem to sit still. Have a lovely week!
Great card!!! I feel that I could just jump into that chair for a relaxing day!!!
I love the hair cut out of wood! A relaxing scene.
Oh my! I meant to say CHAIR cut out of wood!!:-)
This IS a lovely, relaxing scene, Ann! I would love to be by the seaside these days–it’s been HOT! But I can almost feel the ocean breeze looking at your pretty creation! Your hubby will appreciate it, I’m sure!
