I love sending “Day Brighteners”. These are cards whose sole purpose is to lift the spirits, bring on a smile, and just make a person feel happy. I think this pink “Terrific Toadstools” card will do the trick. I can’t wait to drop it in the mail. It’s Sunday…and you know what that means: It’s time to play with The Paper Players.
This week, the stupendous and super-talented Stef is hosting our monthly sketch challenge. I don’t think you will find a sketch more versatile than this. While I opted to highlight toadstools of the magical kind, I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
The delightful Toadstool Garden designer series paper (a Sale-A-Bration product) was my jumping off point for today’s card. I pulled the colors for the toadstools from the pattern, using Melon Mambo and Peach Pie for the caps and Smoky Slate and Early Espresso for the stipes – the technical term for the stalk. (Yep, old science teachers never die!) Bubble Bath cardstock was used to create the background circle, complete with Granny Apple Green grass. Most of the grass was covered over by the sentiment, which was selectively inked in Early Espresso and Melon Mambo. I really wanted the word “Magical” to pop. Five Purple Adhesive Backed Sequins , another Sale-A-Bration freebie, add amazing sparkle.

Just what I needed! My sweet nail tech wants to get in to paper crafting and she’s a mushroom expert to boot. She even makes candy from a mushroom that is native to the Pacific Northwest! What a perfect card to have the two of make together to start her paper crafting hobby.
My goodness Ann, you’ve certainly created one bright, cheerful and fun card! I LOVE this suite and how you’ve used the stamps and the pretty papers to create a fantastic design! The pinks just have me swooning lol. It will definitely make someone’s day. And stipe – thanks for sharing that, I did not know it wasn’t called a stem. Ha!
These toadstools really are magical! I love the bright vibrancy of this card – I think its the jazzy Melon Mambo border pattern. That tiny mat of Smoky Slate is genius as it gives such definition to the centre – as do the layered circles behind the big toadstools. Thanks for giving me a smile! Have a lovely week.
