Delightful Wishes for PP720

Delightful Wishes for PP720

Welcome to The Paper Players first challenge of 2025! Even though I have not posted any cards since our last challenge, you have been on my mind. This Delightful Wishes Thinking of You card is just for YOU! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week, sweet Elizabeth is hosting a color challenge for us: a palette of pink, orange and green. What a delight these hues are! Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Soft Sea Foam and Mossy Meadow share the spotlight on my card today. I can’t wait to see what shades YOU use!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I am a “Die and Paper” person. There is no doubt about it. I love showing off Stampin’ Up!’s fabulous dies and lovely paper. Today’s card is evidence of this. The new Delightful Wishes dies take center stage as the focal image on this fun card. A Basic Beige branch supports Petal Pink flowers with Calypso Coral details and Soft Sea Foam leaves combined with Mossy Meadow. As for the paper? The sweet dotted paper is from the To Market designer series paper collection (Annual Catalog), while the plaid and squares papers are from the Timeless Plaid collection found in the new January – April Mini Catalog. Of course, you know me and plaid! I LOVE these papers!

A Personal Note From Me

It has been difficult the past two months. As you have noticed, I have been off the grid. Both Kim and I fell ill returning home in mid-November from showing Nueve in Florida. Although scheduled to show through December, we ended up canceling the last 7 shows of his career. He ended up his show career as the #12 Boxer in the United States. We are so proud of him. He is my “once-in-a-lifetime” show dog!

Kim and I were both exhausted after our last trip on the road. Kim is still under the care of his doctor and is still being treated. I have been improving, although I get tired very easily. My last appointment was January 2nd, and I was sent home with instructions to continue to rest, take it easy and most importantly to simplify my life. As my doctor pointed out, I need to quit burning the candle at both ends. Oh my gosh…silly man! I don’t know how to do that!

Nueve, Sixx and Uncle Q have been great nurses! They enjoy having all of us home together. Nueve has been relishing the knuckle bones Santa Paws left him,

while Princess Sixx loves watching the snowflakes tiptoeing by!

And just like me, they both enjoy relaxing in front of the fire.

Because I was under the weather, I never got to post our Christmas picture, so here it is. I know that several of you have seen it on Facebook. Belated Merry Christmas to you all!

Nueve wants you to know he will be sharing much more with you in the New Year. As for me, as I recuperate and start feeling better and better, you can expect more posts from me! Until then…

So sorry to hear you and Kim have been poorly through December and Christmas, but glad that you are now taking things easier and are on the mend. Your card is beautiful – I love those dies too and they look really pretty in pink/coral. I did not spring for the plaid paper (you know I am already having second thoughts, right?!) Final word to Nueve – what a superstar!

  5. Hope you both get to feeling better soon. Wishing you both a speedy recovery.
Get plenty of rest and drink lots of liquids.

  6. Ann, so sorry to hear you and your husband have been ill. Please take time to recuperate. Congrats to Good Boy Nueve! Lovely card, as always.

  7. Ann, sometimes in life we just have to slow down….and this is it! I can say that your stamping mojo didn’t slow down, as this card is amazing with all its details, but I am glad you’re taking it a bit more easy and not being on the road so much! That has got to take a toll. Praying that you & Kim both heal up 100%

  8. First of all your card is amazing, as always. You have such a talent for composition. I admire your talent.
Congratulations to Nueve for ranking 12th in the nation. And thus was accomplished with a shortened season. What a champ!
Your Christmas card was beautiful. You have turned back the clock . Thanks for sharing

  9. Sorry to read that you’ve been unwell for so long. I hope you’re on the mend. It’s been interesting to see how each of us has made such different uses of Elizabeth’s colours. I like the softness of your colours and the pretty mix of patterns you’ve used. A great start to the New Year at PP. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Ann, I’m so sorry to hear that you and Kim have been so ill. I’m glad you’re on the mend and hope you both continue to improve. Besides, you’ll have Sixx and Neuve to give you lots of love and comfort. And congrats on his achieving #12 boxer, so well deserved!

I adore those die cut flowers and they look fabulous with all those beautiful layers of dsp. Gorgeous card! Take care!

  11. Ann, firstly so glad you are on the mend and hope that you take the Drs advice and continue to rest – both of you. As for Neuve – what a wonderful way to end his career as the #12 Boxer. I know it was earlier than you intended, but way to go ALL of you. I know what it took to get that title. Now he – and you – can get some well earned rest by the fire ๐Ÿ™‚ I love your use of the colors this week. The dies with the additional layers off so much wonderful texture against those fabulous DSPs.
    hugs

  12. My goodness, that’s a long time to be sick! Wishing you both a complete recovery soon. Congratulations to Nueve and your family on his success!

  13. I had been wondering how the shows for Nueve had turned out. Love him. Take good care of you and keep showing us your super cards and your dogs. They make me smile.

  14. Hi Ann, I’m glad I chose today to visit your blog. Thanks for sharing the disappointments and difficulties of the past months. Being sick and having to slow down is hard! I know you can do it! I Love seeing the dogs and your card is beautiful too!

  15. I’m so sorry to hear of your illness but trust with rest you will be good as new!

  16. Ann… so glad you are trying to rest! Slowing down is not a bad thing. When I finally did it… no more BP meds! More sleep made for a much more pleasant day. And you have such beautiful company while you craft! I know Archie is such a “help”! Gorgeous card as always. Feel better soon.

  17. Oh Ann, I am so sorry you have had such a difficult time. Sending you hugs and prayers.
Your card today is beautiful, as always.
    Keep improving & rest.
Let me know if you figure out the โ€œcandleโ€ HAHA. I need the instructions.

  18. The card is gorgeous, as is your Christmas picture. You know how sad I feel about Nueve’s career but, especially with him, it was meant to be for some reason. I didn’t realize you were sick too, just Kim. Are you both any better now? Is Michelle hanging in there? Hope you have a great new year even with the bad start.
