The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Sometimes I need a card and do not have the time to make one of my “signature” cards, consisting of a hundred layers, a thousand embellishments, and a double bow! However, I still want something that packs a visual punch. This is when I let the paper do all the work for me.  What better paper than one of the gorgeous patterns in the Splendid Autumn collection! These fall flowers are stunning. What did I do? I simply matted it onto coordinating cardstock and added a touching sentiment. The “wow” is achieved by fussy cutting three blossoms from a second sheet of paper, distressing the edges with Copper Clay ink, and popping them up on dimensionals atop their counterparts on the card base. A little Wink of Stella and rhinestones add sparkle. Easy-peasy, yet lovely.

This is beautiful Ann – I love it when such great paper gets to take centre stage. Genius idea to fussy cut extra flowers though – such a clever way to add additional wow factor!

  2. Ann, I love that you popped the flowers up for extra dimension. What a fabulous way to showcase this gorgeous paper. Stunning.

  3. Such pretty papers and popping up those flowers gives it so much more dimension! You wouldn’t think you could make it any prettier, but it sure does! Gorgeous way to be thankful!

  4. You are so right that with paper like this, why not let it shine. The addition of the extra layer of fussy cuts though – that elevates things to a whole new level.

  5. When time is short, it is tempting to just add a beautiful piece of dsp along with a sentiment on a card and call it good, but your extra step with the fussy cut and inked flowers really made this a dazzling card, Ann! It is just gorgeous!

  6. Beautiful!

  7. Beautiful!!! Might be easy for you but I will need a few practice rounds!!!

  8. SU makes such gorgeous papers! I love the ability to make a clean and simple card with these designs. Your card is beautiful!

  9. Ann… what an amazing use of patterned pattern. So brillant to pop up a few blooms. I have to be honest till I read your description, I really thought you had stenciled the flowers. Absolutely beautiful… I can’t believe you think this is a quickie card.
