Clean And Simple Holiday Trees PP716

A clean and simple “Holiday Trees” card is in the spotlight today. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

Clean and simple holiday trees

This week, the amazingly talented Jaydee has a Clean and Simple challenge for us with the theme of: It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!  How great is that! I picked a trio of holiday trees to grace the front of my clean and simple card. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

But remember, this is a CLEAN and SIMPLE challenge.  Before you run off to gather your stamps, papers, and inks, keep in mind that when The Paper Players use the term “clean and simple”, we mean cards that:

Have minimal layers and embellishments
Have plenty of open space
Are simple and uncluttered

Colors Of The Day

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Once again, I took my workhorse of holiday dies out of the stable for another card. Yep, the Decorative Trees dies make another appearance on my blog.  I know I have said it before, but I really love these dies.  Retired Soft Shimmer paper in a lovely shade of Bubble Bath pink was used to create the overlays.  The Snowfall Sky 3D embossing folder creates the perfect background.  Not only is this card on the cleaner and simpler side, it is easy to make. This one will be heading to Nueve’s bestie, Michelle, who loves nothing better than pink (or purple) and shimmer!

Nueve’s Notes

Hey, everyone! It’s me, Nueve! It has been a long time since I have talked with you. I have been busy showing with Mom, Dad and Michelle. We are in Floor-dah. We get to go leave for home tomorrow, but then we have to come back down for the BIG national championship show in Ore-land-Oh.  That will be my last show as a conformation show dog. I will still get to do fun things, though.  I will always be a working dog. Sixx and I are going to run in FastCAT, which is where we run 50 yard dashes. I am excited about that. And I get to do obedience things. I am very obedient, so I should do really good.  But for now, when I am not playing show dog, Mom, Dad and I make our own fun. The house where we are staying has a yard, so I get to run and play.  Sometimes I have to tell my dad to hurry and throw the sloth ball, ’cause I just can’t wait!

Mom and Dad also take me to fun places where I get to do things I don’t get to do back in I-Owe-Wah.  We went to a place called Cedar Key a few days ago. It has a little beach where I got to walk in the sand. Mom wanted me to get in the water, but I told her “NO! There might be sharks!”

Even though I didn’t get in the water, I still got to walk down the beach. I had fun watching the kids. There was also a man catching fish! And you know what else? There were other dogs on the beach! I didn’t get to play with them, though. We were all on our leashes.

I love it when Mom takes me out on adventures! I always make sure to give her a BIG “thank you” kiss!

Thanking people who do special things for you is important. It’s the right and loving thing to do.  Doing the right and loving thing is just part of my job. I’m a working dog! I am “Good Boy Nueve”!

  1. Ann, I adore all these adorable little tress! I love the embossing and the pink, too! This card is CAS perfection! I think Nueve loves the beach as much as I do. I adore him! And YOU, too!

  2. Ann, I just love your trio of trees. I also love the color scheme – it’s so unexpected and works beautifully. All of that texture on the trees adds so much visual interest – fabulous card. Thanks for rocking my challenge this week and what a great photo of Neuve. He’ll so enjoy doing his obedience and dashes! He has had such a fabulous career as a show dog – congrats to all of you 🙂

  3. Joanne James - The Crafty Owl

Oh I do love a pink Christmas card and this one is sparkling with loveliness! You are killing me with those trees though!!! Love the beach photos – glad you are making the most of your time in the sunshine state!

  4. What a pretty card…the sparkle really makes these trees extra-special! And we all know that Nueve is extra-special…and well-traveled as well!

  5. Nothing beats shimmer or shine during the holiday season and I bet that pink shimmer paper used the the trees is absolutely gorgeous in person and no doubt Michelle will love it!

Good luck in at the nationals Ann! Nueve is such a handsome boy it would be amazing to see him win big!

  6. Nueve, you have been a busy guy! I’m glad you weren’t near any hurricanes in Floor-dah, though. Now that you won’t be a conformation show dog, will you get to relax more? I am looking forward to reading about your new adventures!

Ann, I love the simplicity of this card but it still has depth and elegance. You are amazing!

  7. You are so right about those dies! They’re just wonderful either with or without the stamps. And that embossing folder is one of the best ever! This is a lovely card and it looks well with those softer colours. 🙂

  8. Wonderful to hear from Nueve again – I missed him!

  9. Great card! Thanks for showing Nueve – I love him.

  10. How unexpected and beautiful!! Love it. Tell Nueve we are freezing down here in Floordah – only 60 degrees this morning! Went to WalMart and Publix yesterday morning and it was easy to tell who lived here and who was visiting. Those of us who live here were wearing long sleeves, even coats and jackets, and long pants. Those who don’t were barely dressed, pun intended.
