Celebrate

What better than a “celebrate” card to celebrate all of the fun things that are happening right now, like the fabulous designer series paper sale and the upcoming release of the new “mini” catalog! It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players.

celebrateIt’s Color Challenge week at The Paper Players, and our hostess, the fabulous Jan, has a fun palette for us:

color challange PP702What sweet hues, don’t you agree? I couldn’t resist using floral die cuts and a Lemon Lolly card base. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I pulled the old work horse out of the stable for today’s card. Yep, the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder was used to create the yummy texture that serves as the backdrop for these subtle colors. I find that when working with several colors, sometimes the easiest thing is to use a neutral canvas, like Very Vanilla, on which to arrange the colored components. Originally I had used Very Vanilla and Sea Foam floral die cuts, but opted to substitute Basic White for the vanilla for a little more contrast. When it comes to incorporating color, this old science teacher still loves to experiment.

Ann, this is so pretty! These florals are the perfect way to showcase the color combo. Embossed backgrounds always make the card more interesting. Have a great weekend!

  2. Ann, that embossing folder reminds me of so many buildings that I have been in with the antique tin-tiled ceilings. It adds so much wonderful texture to your fabulous collection of florals. Love the label, too.

  3. Beautiful card!!! Great Color combo!!

  4. What a delightful card, Ann! I love die cut florals too and yours look fabulous against the tile embossed background and with the framed sentiment too.

    Absolutely lovely as always!!

  6. These dies work together so well with Jan’s colors, Ann! Such a pretty card anyone would love to receive!

  7. That is one of the best embossing folders yet! It really works with all kinds of card “moods”. I love your science teacher experiments in color!

  8. What color Blue did you use? It looks like Seaside Spray. Maybe Boho Blue?

  9. The colours do seem to shout summer florals, don’t they? I love the soft, romantic feel you’ve created with the pretty distressed tile background. The oval label behind the flowers makes them stand out – nice detail. 🙂
