Scottie Dogs Happy Holidays Card

I don’t know about you, but for me it is never too early to get started on my holiday cards. Combining my love of Scotties, plaid, dots, pearls and Christmas, today’s Scottie Dogs Happy Holidays card covers all the bases. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players as we celebrate our 700th challenge!!

scottie dogs happy holidays cardThe uber-talented LeAnne is the host of our 700th challenge, which just happens to be a sketch challenge. I LOVE the sketch LeAnne has designed for us. What a perfect way to showcase these wee pups! While I created a card of the canine persuasion, I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

The Seasons of Green designer series paper collection, an Online Exclusive, is a wonderful collection of elegant and classic patterns, four of which are featured on this sweet Scottie dog card. Although the Christmas Scottie stamp set and punch are retired, I will not part with mine. I am a Scottie dog collector, and it fits right in with my stash of Scottie goodies. The three different poses of these pups were perfect for this sketch.  A little hint for stamping those black coats was to ink the stamp in Versamark first, then ink it in black. If any further enhancement is needed, a blend or marker can make quick order of any light spots.

Those pups will stay in my collection forever and I love how you used my favorite color, Green, to create this delightful Christmas card, Ann! Cheers, Jolanda

Your trio of Scotties are perfect to send Christmas wishes – fab with the green background too. I have let my throughout-the-year cardmaking slip – I think I need to get back on it before the festive season is upon us!

  3. Ann, I swear you used to have Scotties on a card in the past. I loved them then and I love them now. What a fabulous use of the sketch. Plaid, polka dots and Scotties. What is not to love!

Ann, what a fun holiday card! I love the little Scotties and the plaid! The little bows and pearls add so much detail! I love it!

  5. Those Scotties are darling, Ann! I appreciate your tip about getting a truly black coverage – I never thought to use Versamark before black, definitely have to try that. Love all the patterned papers you used, they make such a delightful Christmas card along with those sweet doggies!

  6. Suh a sweet and adorable card.
I have this set but haven’t used it yet. Guess it’s time for me to dig the set out and make a few cards with it. Thanks 4 the inspiration.
Have been looking for the narrow red & black ribbon for the bows but thus far, no such luck
Take care, stay safe and keep cool.
Enjoy your day and have a wonderful week.

I love this, guess why : ) As a note to whomever, if done in white these Scotties pass for Westies. I make them all the time. Thanks for sharing.

  8. The dogs are real cuties! I like the change in background for each one. 🙂

  9. Love the Scotties!!! Great card!!

  10. I love Scotties too! How sweet is this! Their little bows just make them even more handsome! Love the plaid circles as well! I like that you chose a different color than red….I always seem to gravitate towards red but you’ve proven that green works too! Thanks for making my sketch look fabulous!

  11. Hi! I tried to send an email last week to purchase some of your retired product, but the address I have would not work. Please send the correct one. Thanks
