Sympathy cards are one of the most difficult cards for me to make. Unfortunately, I needed one this past week. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players.

The wonderful LeAnne is hosting our Clean and Simple challenge this week. She selected the theme of either Sympathy OR Encouragement. I selected Sympathy out of necessity. This image from the Magnolia Mood stamp set, an Online Exclusive, captured the serenity for which I was looking. I can’t wait to see what you create. But remember, this is a CLEAN and SIMPLE challenge. Before you run off to gather your stamps, papers, and inks, keep in mind that when The Paper Players use the term “clean and simple”, we mean cards that:
Have minimal layers and embellishments
Have plenty of open space
Are simple and uncluttered

Colors Of The Day

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
In keeping with the calmness and serenity I wanted today’s card to reflect, I kept the colors of the magnolia very soft and subtle. Using a sponge dauber to loosely apply Pretty In Pink and Shaded Spruce inks to the petals and leaves, I made sure to remove most of the color onto scratch paper before applying to the image. I wish now I wouldn’t have used the scalloped oval dies for the sentiment, but you know what they say about hindsight…

Ann, I’m sorry you needed this sort of card – they are always the hardest for me to make. The sentiment is just perfect – sometimes, words are just not enough! I love all the gorgeous texture on your card.

Your colouring is beautiful Ann. I love everything about this card.
So pretty Ann – I love the swirled background (already in my shopping basket lol). Question is – do I need the magnolia bundle too? I am tempted …. I love the soft cream with just a hint of pink on your flower and that sentiment sums up how we so often feel in the event of needing this kind of card.
So pretty…soft and subtle! That background embossing is AMAZING! I always think I don’t “need” something until I see one of my friends use it….and then I see the possibilities! This really makes your card pop!
Very Pretty!! Hope you and the pups are doing well!!
So pretty Ann. Love a clean & simple card.
Beeyooteefull!
