Rainy days are always better when spent with a friend! It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week sweet, sweet Claire is hosting a theme challenge: Rainy Days. I LOVE rainy days. They are great for a multitude of activities: reading a book, cleaning out a closet, watching a movie OR just watching those old raindrops fall like the young lady in this image. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!
Colors Of The Day
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques. In the case of today’s card, paper piecing allowed me to express my inner interior decorator by creating a custom window seat cushion and pillow. I used a pattern from Perennial Lavender in shades of spruce and peacock. I was also able to channel my inner stylist, dressing this young lady from the In the Moment set in a Moody Mauve top and Boho Blue jeans courtesy of Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment, from Playing In the Rain, is one of my favorites.

A Note From Ann
Hi friends! Between showing dogs, cleaning up an Airbnb, and packing, I am writing a quick little note to apologize for today’s very short post. By the time you read this, I will be winging my way home from Seattle after attending Brady’s (our son) wedding. In typical Brady fashion, he and his fiancée Korin, set their wedding date as Leap Day. In what must be the worst example of planning on my part, after showing Nueve in Tallahassee, Florida on Saturday, February 24th, we would drive two long days back home to Iowa, deliver Nueve to his good friend Rose (who was already watching Sixx and Uncle Q), pack, and fly out at 5:00 AM Tuesday the 27th. Once in Washington, I would have one day to make boutonnières and create a floral collar and leash for Kia, the flower dog. Since all of this is happening in the future from the date I am writing this, I am sure I got all of this done and survived.
In the meantime, here is a picture of “Mr. Handsome Pants” strutting his stuff around the ring with his good friend, Michelle.

What a sweet card, Ann! I have this set and have never inked it up. This is lovely inspiration to get it on my desk right away. So pretty!
What a lovely card! I love rainy days! Congrats to the newlyweds!! Wow that is a lot of traveling in a short time! Hope y’all are taking some time off to rest! Look at that handsome dog!!
The rainy day card is lovely – I just hope you get to relax on a window seat with a coffee sometime soon, after all that you’ve been up to. Hope the wedding was wonderful; can’t wait to see the photos!
What a lovely, relaxing card….which doesn’t match your latest escapades at all, does it? I love the colors and sentiment, very nicely done! Hope all went well with the wedding, flowers and EVERYTHING! Can’t wait to see some photos! I like rainy days too….just not days and days of them!
The Big ? now is; did you have fun and where you able to get and any sleep?
Very best wishes to the happy couple and wishing them much happiness and years to come; and congratulations to you and your dear hubby on getting a daughter-in-law.
Lovely card.
We had just a light shower of rain and a bit of sleet the other day; but not enough to amount to anything. The Panhandle could really use a nice big down pour to help all the firemen out the way who are fighting them fires. Well over a million acres have burned thus far.
Take care. Now, you deserve a nice long period of R&R
Congrats to the happy couple and their parents! I hope you made it to every place you needed to be and weren’t hampered by the weather! I don’t know how you get any cards made! 🙂
You had snow on the wedding day? My cousin in Everett did, and we here in western Oregon in the Pacific NorthWET managed to get some…and we won’t even talk about the rain! Great card for our climate!
Best Wishes to the happy couple! I know it was a lovely day! Hey–they will never forget their anniversary! LOl!
I love this serene scene. Nothing better than a cup of coffee and a few minutes of quite time on a rainy day! The Pretty Peacock is gorgeous! Thank you for making my challenge shine this week!
Hi Ann!!! Lots of happines to Korin and Brady!!! Any day is good for a wedding!!
“Congratulations” on becoming a “Mother-In-Law”! Your son picked out a good wedding date—that is my birthday! I was born on Leapyear and just turned “21”. It sounds better than “84” but I’m happy I made it this far at least! I hope you will have time to rest up! You must be exhausted!
Wow! Where do you get all the energy? We married on New Year’s Eve so he couldn’t forget the anniversary. Now your newlyweds don’t have to think of theirs til four years from now : ) The card is gorgeous, certainly creates a mood.
