Feminine, yet distressed, these stippled roses make a perfect focal point for this vintage-style birthday card. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!
I am so happy to be the hostess for our first challenge of 2024 – a theme challenge! For your stamping fun, I decided on “Cheers to the Years” – create a birthday card! I know I can always use a birthday card to add to my stash. Feminine, masculine, humorous, elegant, casual, one for the kids or one for a milestone birthday…we can’t wait to see what YOU create!
Colors Of The Day
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
I always love a great floral set. When I saw the Stippled Roses bundle in the new catalog, I knew I “needed” it. The images reminded me of floral prints in an old book of faded botanical prints. It has been several years since I pulled out the “ol’ sponge daubers” and created a distressed card, but I decided to start the new year by going back to an old technique! A few speckles, distressed edges, and very lightly tinted blossoms and leaves (to mimic fading), and voilà – instant aging! A gorgeous embossed background, a trio of champagne dots, and a double bow add touches of elegance.

Nueve’s Notes
Hey, everyone! It’s me, Nueve! I hope you haven’t forgotten me. My mom wasn’t feeling well after we got back from the National AKC Championships dog show in Orlando. She had to go the people vet. But she is feeling much better now. I have so much to tell you about the dog show. I did really good. My mom and dad and Michelle were very proud of me. Every time I entered the show ring with Michelle, I got a ribbon!
One day. we got our picture taken in front of these BIG letters. Michelle was really sparkly.
Another day we went outside. Michelle was dressed in white. Can you believe she showed dogs dressed in white? Mom said she was very brave ’cause I drool a lot.
On the last day, we had our picture taken in front of this big orange curtain. This is my favorite picture ‘ cause Michelle looks like she is ready to go play. I know I was ready to run and play. And I got to play back in my motel room. Michelle gave me Christmas presents early ’cause she said I had been a very good boy.
This one was my favorite. It squeaked a lot and it was big.
I also got a dine-o-roar. I liked it, too! I LOVE toys. And she also got me a very pretty collar.
It’s made out of turquoise and orange sparklies. Michelle loves sparklies. I get to wear it this spring when I go to the American Boxer Club National Top Twenty Show. It is going to be in Indy-apple-us. They are going to turn out all the lights except for one big one which is going to shine right on me as I run around the ring.
When we got back home, Mom wanted to get a Christmas picture with me, so Dad took it. Later, I had my picture taken with my sister, Sixxy.
Dad was super tired from all the driving he had to do, so I was sure to give him lots of extra cuddle time. We also took lots of naps.
Yep…giving cuddle time and napping with my dad is just one of my many jobs. I am a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!

Ann, another gorgeously, rich, texture and elegant card. Noone does this style better than you, my friend. I love the vintage colors, too. Just gorgeous. As for Neuve – congratulations to all of you. I know the amount of effort and work that goes into winning those ribbons, but it also takes a very special dog and owner/handler 🙂
