Pulling out a retired stamp set is like saying “hello” to an old friend you haven’t seen for awhile. There is just something comforting about inking up a favorite sentiment and die-cutting out a favorite shape. In my case, my old friend is the Dove of Hope stamp set and the Detailed Dove dies. Every year since I bought them, I recreate one of my favorite layouts with updated papers and embossing folders. Here is this year’s version of Peace, Joy and Love. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!
The amazing Jaydee is hosting our theme challenge this week, and I am sure it is one you will love: Christmas! As I mentioned, I pulled out one of my favorite retired bundles to create the updated version of one of my favorite cards. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!
Colors Of The Day
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Today’s layout is a classic one for any large die cut or a cluster of smaller ones. While I used the retired Detailed Dove dies, I could have just as easily used the Winter Owls dies from the current mini-catalog. There are so many options: Christmas trees, deer, ornaments, wreaths, poinsettias, other flowers and more. While you may not have the same dies I have, never be afraid to experiment!

One of my all-time favorite sets, Ann! Clean, classic and so peaceful.
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without that beautiful dove Ann – I will have to use alternative papers when I get mine out though as I don’t have that pack 😉 I love the dove against those mottled aqua tones – so peaceful, a beautiful card.
Ann, I feel the same way about a few of my stamp sets. I get so excited when I pull them out year after year. It is so fun to use them with current products. Your card is absolutely beautiful. The colors you used really let the dove shine.
Ann, we could all use a bit of Peace, Love & Joy this year. Thank you for providing us some with your beautiful card! That shimmery paper at the edges is gorgeous.
Xoxo, Fran
Ann, I am so glad you used this set. It really is beautiful and your background showcases that beautiful dove to perfection. Stunning card. Thanks for rocking my challenge this week
hugs

Stunning card. Beautiful color combination and layout for that gorgeous Dove. This set makes for very lovely Christmas cards. Seems like I use this set mostly for sympathy cards.
The Dove of Hope stamp set is right at the top of my favorite sets.
Thanks 4 sharing.
Have an enjoyable and safe week.
Beautiful card!!! I have this die & love it! I always seem to gravitate towards blue for Christmas so this card is perfect!! I love the frame-look.
Thanks for sharing!
This is just so pretty, you can never go wrong with a beautiful dove like this one. The background is stunning..perfect for a Christmas peaceful greeting.
I need a card like this for a friend who doesn’t celebrate Christmas. Thanks for reminding me of that set. Beautiful card!
Ann, this is beyond beautiful. I wish the dove of peace would fly over this world and right what’s wrong. I love your colors and design as well. I have missed Nueve…I am hoping he is taking a vacay from being a working dog but not a good boy.
Absolutely beautiful!!
