He Shall Be Called

A bold sentiment with a mixture of fonts proclaiming “He shall be called…” graces the front of today’s Christmas card. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! He shall be calledThis week I have the pleasure of hosting our monthly sketch challenge. I have selected a versatile sketch which can showcase fabulous paper or embossing or even stenciling, as you can see from our Design Team’s inspiration cards.  While I opted to use a bold sentiment for the central panel, a stamped image would look equally as lovely.  I am SO excited to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I love big, bold sentiments.  Today’s sketch is perfect for showcasing this one from the Night Divine stamp set.  I inked it up in Night of Navy to coordinate with one of the lovely patterns from the Shining Brightly specialty paper collection. While this particular paper is no longer available, there are other lovely papers that are equally as beautiful.  Think about how gorgeous this would be using embossed Very Vanilla cardstock. I can’t wait to try it!  To switch things up, instead of traditional red and green, I used foil in shades of Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green.

  1. All i can muster here is one word…STUNNING! This is an absolutely gorgeous card and so elegantly detailed. This was an amazing sketch this week and one I know I will use again and again!

  2. Great sketch. – I must say the diagonal portion was tricky (for me) but I figured it out. – I enjoyed creating a card for this challenge. – Your card is so beautiful. Love the texture, colors and that great sentiment.

  3. Ann, I love this DSP but havent found an excuse to use it yet. Using it as the background to your fabulous, large sentiment is the perfect way to showcase it. It adds a wonderful touch of shimmer, shine and texture. Fabulous card

Ann this is just fabulous! That Shining Brightly is my most favourite in the catalogue and the diagonal gold embossed piece compliments beautifully. I love that central sentiment too. I was put off by the American spelling, but I might have to pick this up on the last-chance list – it is so beautiful!

  6. GORGEOUS! I love the gold with the blue and the bold greeting.

  7. Ann, this card has a wonderfully Byzantine appearance to it that could also grace a leaded glass window in a church! I’m with Bonnielee and her comment above, and I immediately thought of Handel’s Messiah – my favorite Christmas music. What a beautiful card!

  8. Wow! This is gorgeous! I would never have thought to use those colors, but in just the wee bits you used, it looks fabulous! Rockin’ sketch!

  9. Gorgeous card.
I love that whole complete set

  10. Absolutely gorgeous color combinations! Who would have thought Melon Mambo would be so festive!

  11. Beautiful card Ann, have a very Merry Christmas!

  12. Stunning card, Ann!! It captures all the glory of Christmas.
The touch of red with the blue & gold is perfect!

  13. Absolutely gorgeous. Only one problem – when I saw it I started singing, from my old church days when I was young, and my brain said almighty God, and I lost a beat in the song. Well, I can’t sing, so it’s OK.
