Cheerful Daisies Thank You

Daisies have long been viewed as a joyful flower.  What better way to spread the joy than with a Cheerful Daisies card!  It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week the lovely Anne Marie is hosting our color challenge. She picked a fun and fresh trio of colors:  Lemon Lolly, Lost Lagoon, and a neutral of your choice.

I went with a floral theme and selected white as my neutral.  I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

I am in love with the Cheerful Daisies dies, especially the large one with the three daisies. I saw a perfect opportunity to add the challenge colors by using the die to create the two smaller daisies from Lemon Lolly cardstock and the leaves from Lost Lagoon.  I essentially just paper pieced them on top of the white die cut I had created first.  A few fronds were also die cut from Lost Lagoon and used to fill in. Although I used a “Thanks” sentiment, other sentiments could easily be used, making this a very versatile card.

Nueve’s Notes

Hey, Everybody! It’s me, Nueve! My mom, dad, Sister Sixxy and me are still having fun visiting all sorts of places and going to dog shows.  Last weekend, we were in Mommy, O-Hi-O.  At least that’s what it sounded like to me.  It was close to Toe-Lead-O.  I don’t know why it is called Toe-Lead-O.  My lead goes around my neck, not my toe! Someone was being really silly to name it that. Anyway, we were outside showing, and Mommy, O-Hi-O was really hot!  I got to wear my pretty “cool coats”. They are really fancy. Mom puts them in icy water, and then she puts them on me to keep me cool.  I LOVE them.  Because I have a really short nose, I get hot easy.  I also wore my cold neck wrap on my head to help me stay cool.  Mom made sure that Michelle and I had a fan blowing on us.  My mom does not take chances with me when it’s hot out! Michelle played games with me in the show ring while we were waiting our turn to see the judge.  She called the first game “Where’s Nueve?”   To play it, she covered my head with my neck wrap and said, “Where’s Nueve?”  I guess she couldn’t see me with my head covered.

Maumee

So I stuck my nose out a little bit.  I guess she still couldn’t see me, because she said “Where’s Nueve?” again.

Maumee

This time I stuck out my head and she said, “There he is!”  Everyone thought it was funny and laughed.

Next, she played a game called “Kissy Face”.  First, she leaned back and smiled at me.  I knew something was going to happen.  I looked at her like, “What you doin’, Michelle?”

Maumee

Then she moved closer and made her lips look like fish lips.  Her lips were a little scary. I couldn’t stop staring at them.

Maumee

Then she sneaked in and kissed me right on my forehead.  ‘Cause it made Michelle happy, I let her do it.

I had a good weekend in Mommy, O-Hi-O.  I was Best of Breed both days and won a toy each day. Everybody was happy.  Michelle was happy because I showed really, really good.  Sixxy was happy because she got one of my toys. Mom was happy because I had fun in the show ring and won.  And Dad was happy because Mom was happy.  Yep!  Making my people happy is all part of my job.  I am a working dog.  I am Good Boy Nueve!

  5. What a lovely array of flowers, and the background is perfectly yummy too! Great way to combine these colors. And Nueve makes us happy too!

  6. Joanne James - The Crafty Owl

Great minds think alike Ann this week – but create two completely different cards!! I love the bold watercolouring and hatched background (finally managed to order this EF – hurrah!) I love these daisies too, especially when not used with the co-ordinating DSP. So fresh in this week’s colours!

  7. What cheerful colors!! Nueve what fun games to play!! Congratulations on another win!!!

  8. I am really loving the Cheerful Daisies stamps and dies. Love your card and the way you painted some color into the background!

A Note to Good Boy Nueve: Congratulations on winning Best of Breed TWO more times. You must have a bundle of ribbons! In spite of the heat you made everyone proud. I have a feeling that the other “furry” friends in your category probably don’t like seeing you show up. 🙂 Keep up the work being a “working dog”.

  9. Daisies bring me JOY as they are my most favorite flower. Your card is certainly JOYFUL and beautiful!

  10. Ann, I love your card design and colors. Nueve tells such a great story. He certainly pleases me! The poor white coated dog behind him the one pic had to be sooooo hot with all that hair. TFS.

  11. Bonnielee McGuire

Darn, you just made my heart skip a beat. Green, yellow, and white is my favorite color combination. When anyone sends me flowers, they send that combo. And now I may have to get those daisy dies! Nueve was quite the people pleaser!!! Love it all. Thanks for sharing.
