With spring in the air, what better way to send someone a little bouquet of blossoms than with a note card featuring two-tone flowers! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week I have the honor of hosting our monthly Sketch Challenge. A sketch is the foundation of any card, and I fortified this foundation with lots of layers. However, I kept the card on the cleaner side by leaving lots of white space. While I choose flowers, I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Today’s note card featuring two-tone flowers is blooming with new colors. Bubble Bath blossoms pair perfectly with Moody Mauve details, while Boho Blue blossoms look great with Lost Lagoon leaves. A subtle strip of Countryside Inn paper, in shades of blue, adds interest, while the large embossed panel adds texture but gives an overall clean vibe. For today’s card, I used the Floral embossing folder which is one of the three Basics 3D embossing folders. The Boho Bloom ribbon has a beautiful sheen to it. And although it doesn’t show up in the picture, the circle behind the flowers has a lovely sparkle.
Often where I begin with a card is not where I end up. Originally, the circle of the sketch was going to be filled up with punched flowers. I didn’t like the look, but the flowers were too pretty to toss. I decided to use the Boho Blue one to accent the sentiment.

Nueve’s Notes
Hey, everyone! It’s me, Nueve! Sixxy and I were busy over Easter at a dog show. We got to see and play with our friend Rikke. She’s a Portuguese Water Dog. She knows how to swim and everything. Here is a picture of Sixxy and me with Rikke when we were puppies. That’s Rikke in the middle.
Her dad, Dave, wanted us to get another picture together since we are all older. It was really sunny, and it was hard not to close my eyes. But here we are! We put Rikke in the middle again.
I did really good at the dog show. I won two days. Michelle is so funny. She made me wear bunny ears for Easter when I won on Saturday. Because it was Michelle, I did. Mom thought I looked cute in them.
On Sunday, Michelle wore yellow. I won again, and we took pictures outside. Sixxy won, too. Isn’t she pretty?
Sixxy had her picture with Michelle sitting down. Michelle stood up with me and held my lead up high.
It was hot and windy, but I stood really still ’cause it made Michelle happy again. Mom thought I looked handsome. Mom was busy last week sewing. She made Sixxy a crate cover fit for a princess, with unicorns, rainbows, and Cinderella carriages.
She made me one in pink and turquoise. She said it was OK, ’cause real dogs wear pink. Pink Southwestern fabric made her happy.
Sometimes you have to wear bunny ears or stand still in the wind because it makes someone you love happy. Sometimes you have to like pink Southwestern fabric too because someone you love does. That’s just part of the job. I am a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!

Your attention to details, large and small, make such a difference in your cards! I love the use of Lost Lagoon for the leaves; it really fits well with Boho Blue and Moody Mauve. The circle in the background really brings the flowers to the forefront. I just got my new Core Colors and In Colors and now I have a reason to try them out!

Gorgeous card! Is the blue panel across the middle from dsp? Love all the pictures of Nueve and Sixxy……..it was so kind of Nueve to point out which of them was Rikke. Nueve has a great sense of humor and is certainly tolerant of having to stand in the heat and/or having pink as part of his crate. Love these stories!
