Chick, Chick, Goose Note Card

When I was a child many, many years ago, I played the game “Duck, Duck, Goose” at recess.  Almost 70 years later, this adorable note card reminded me of care-free days and schoolyard fun. However, with this paper, it would be a game of “Chick, Chick, Goose”! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week the sweet and amazing Jaydee has such a fun theme challenge for us:  “The Animals Came in 2×2”!  She would like us to feature an animal on our card.  I happened to have some leftover Day At The Farm Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration. I thought it would be perfect for today’s challenge. I can’t wait to see wait YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

The paper does the work on today’s Chick, Chick, Goose Note Card for sure! Even though it is retired, I just could not pass it by. Now you might be saying to yourself, “What value does today’s card have for me? I don’t have this paper!”  Well, just look at this versatile sketch.  What a perfect one for showcasing ANY beautiful paper! Plus, the card is a tad on the simpler side.  Without bulky ribbons or a ton of embellishments, it works great for mailing. You can make up a bazillion of these out of your favorite papers, and add the appropriate sentiment as needed.

Yummy texture was provided by one of my favorite embossing folders, the Crosshatch pattern from the Basics 3D Embossing Folder collection.  This is an Online Exclusive which is temporarily unavailable, but it estimated to be back in stock the week of May 1st.  If you have not already purchased these, I would definitely add them to your “Must Have” list.  It was fun pulling out colors from the designer paper. Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight cried out “Pick me!”, so I did!  A heat embossed sentiment adds a bit of gloss.

  1. I just love this card! That DSP reminds me of my childhood on the farm. I always had to collect the eggs every day. I love red and yellow together! Such a great card and those black dots add so much detail! Have a blessed Easter weekend, My Friend!

  2. Chick, chick, goose indeed, Ann! Great card – I’m really drawn to the unexpected colors on this happy card.
    Xoxo, Fran

  3. This paper made me think of playground games too Ann – and your panel sketch is a great way to showcase it! So cheery – a notecard sure to raise a smile.

  4. Fun title for your card. What a great way to showcase the designer paper. Your card is so cheerful.

  5. OK. So, I confess. I have no idea what duck, duck, goose is. Now I have to go and google it 🙂 I love that paper! Choosing the red to repeat into the background layers was a great idea. Offsetting the focal element adds a whimsical element which is perfect for that paper. Fabulous card

  6. Such a cute card.
Duck, Duck Goose brings back memories from looooooon ago. Was a thing that we always played during recess. That, along with dodge ball and jump rope, and can’t forget about Red Rover. Kids now days wouldn’t know what Red Rover was and probably never heard of it. If we where lucky enough to have chalk, we played Hop Scotch.

  7. Great card Ann. I love how you used the DSP and all the bright layers of color. Suzy

  8. What a great way to use these papers! Fun, cute card….so cheerful with those ducks and chicks, and the color palette makes me smile! Hope you had a good weekend!

Oh how I love that paper. I have made many cards from that, both regular and slimline. I have probably used most of it up, but kept every little scrap. Love the card too! Please tell Nueve to get out of the bathtub and do his writing job : )
