Bees and Blooms

Bees and blooms are a common sight in the spring and summer here in Iowa.  Although bees perform such an important job in our world,  for the safety of the Boxer kids, who are allergic to bee stings, I would much prefer to enjoy my bees on a card.  It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!Bees and BloomsThis week, Jaydee is hosting a very timely theme challenge: Birds and/or Bees.  My card features a trio of busy bees, buzzing around a beautiful bouquet of blooms.  I can’t wait to see what you create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Today’s card was made for Nueve’s friend, Michelle.  Once a week, we drive 3 hours round trip to take Nueve to Michelle’s grooming shop.  He doesn’t go to be groomed.  Instead he goes to play with different breeds of dogs and with cats. He spends an hour or two with her behind the counter, and has an enjoyable time.  It’s something we do to make him feel just as special as sister Sixx and Uncle Q, who are going to obedience classes.  Nueve will be giving this card to Michelle next week, to show his appreciation.

It’s a relatively easy card.  But, keep in mind that easy doesn’t necessarily mean “quick”.  The floral image, from the Blessings of Home stamp set, and the trio of bees, from the Honeybee Home stamp set,  are colored with Stampin’ Blends (color details are in the tutorial which can be downloaded below), and then die cut out.  Soft Succulent die cuts, created with the Honeybee Blooms dies, are tucked in behind the image.  The bees sport rhinestones on their heads and sparkly Wink of Stella on their wings.  I double bow accents the sentiment.  Because Nueve will be paw delivering his card, the bulky double bow is not a problem.
