Are you like me? Are you ready to say “Goodbye Winter – Hello Spring”? If so, this Hello Spring card may just help you drive away the winter doldrums. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
It’s Clean and Simple week at The Paper Players, and I have the honor of being the host. Animal lover that I am, I couldn’t help but pick Wild About Wildlife for the theme. The Players would like to see you feature an animal on your Clean and Simple card. From lions and tigers and bears, oh my, to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee, I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But remember, it is CAS week, so make sure your cards:
- Have minimal layers and embellishments
- Have plenty of open space
- Are simple and uncluttered

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
On some cards the designer series paper does all of the work, but not today. It’s the dies that do the heavy lifting. Creating this card couldn’t be any easier. The only time consuming task is gluing together these stunning birds, and adding the blossoms to the card front. As much as I would have loved to adorn those flowers with pearls, I did try to keep it cleaner and simpler.
To download the free step-by-step tutorial for today’s Hello Spring card, which includes all the paper measurements and all of the current products used, please click on the button below. For every card which has been posted on my blog since 2019, there is a free tutorial.

Notes from Nueve
Hey, everyone! It’s me! Good Boy Nueve! Sixxy and I haven’t been able to go on walks the past few days. One day we had ice and snow, and Mom wouldn’t take us out. Then we had sun, and Mom still wouldn’t take us on a walk. She said it was too cold. I don’t think it’s too cold, but she said I didn’t count ’cause I have a fur coat on. Sixxy was mad about it. She decided to play the “Inside-Outside” game. Do you know how to play that game? Mom hates it, but Sixxy always gets her to play. It’s where Sixxy wants to go out, so Mom gets up to let her out. Then Sixxy wants to come in. So Mom gets up to let her in. Then Sixxy asks to go back out, but she waits until Mom has sat back down. SO Mom gets up to let her out…that game. SIxxy gets her to do that a bunch of times. Then Mom loses her patience and says, “NO. You can’t go back out!” and Sixxy puts on her pouty face.
This time, though, I thought Sixxy looked super sad. I felt bad for her ’cause what if she really did have to go potty? So I decided to help her. After all, that is what I do. I’m a helper.
I walked over to join her at the door and lend a paw. Maybe if we both stared at the door it would magically open.
It didn’t work, no matter how hard we stared at the door. It just wouldn’t open.
I told Sixxy maybe we should both look pitiful, and see if Mom would open the door. I used my best puppy dog eyes, and Sixxy dropped her head and looked really, really sad.
But you know what, Mom still said “No!” and she said it in her “I Mean Business” voice. So, we just decided to take a nap in front of the fire window.
After all, being a working dog is hard work. And that’s what I am. I’m a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!

You totally made me give this bundle a second look, Ann! Gorgeous mix of colors and I love the soft pop of pattern in the background.
This week’s card is a stunner Ann – and would you believe I didn’t recognise those beautiful bird dies at all – I actually reached for my catalogue as I thought you’d gone rogue on me!! And there they were – I had totally glossed over them. They really are lovely on those card – and I am soooo ready for spring too! As for those pups – hope they’re not still giving you the run around lol!
Love those gorgeous birds as well as the pretty florals! Great challenge this week! And speaking of “wildlife”…those pups and the looks on their faces!! I’ve seen those looks before at Dana’s house….drama, drama, drama!
Your die-cut birds look fabulous on the dotty background, Anne! I wouldn’t have put those colors together on my own but they look great together. And didn’t you know the doggy definition of “door”–it’s that thing that they’re always on the wrong side of!
Ann, I am with ya! So ready for sunshine and warmer days. Polka dots, birds and flowers make me long for Spring! I love everything about this card and your challenge! Those two characters really make me smile! Never a dull moment at your house! Have a super week, My Friend!
Wow, what a pretty card! I totally missed those dies! Great CAS challenge this week. And I just love your dog stories. Have a great week!
Love this! Awesome birds and a fun polka dot background!!
That polka dot background was perfect for this card! It really highlighted the shapes and colors. Sixx and Nueve are such hoots! My cats do the same thing…in and out, with woeful eyes if they can’t go out for the fifth time in an hour.
Beautiful card, Ann! Somehow you never make my “Wish List” shorter! I think Sixxy and our DOG learned the same game. Give Sixx and Nueve a pet for us.
I was laughing so hard at the dogs I got totally distracted. Yes, I have played that game often!
The card is a beautiful tribute to nature – love the gorgeous birds – and the coming of spring. I just love it! Thanks for a fabulous challenge, Ann! And I’m with you about the pearls. I’m always tempted to add them. Your card shines with the lovely images and colors.
I love the card & the “puppies” story…they are so beautiful!
Oh my, that card! I hadn’t wanted the birds until I saw your card–now…. Well, we’ll see.
BUT, your story! I chuckled my way all the way through it. What characters those two are.
GORGEOUS CARD AND DOGS!!
Ah, those poor babies! How could you look at their sad faces and say No. I have one just like them though. She does that to me all the time. But mostly when it is time to go to bed. She refuses to come to bed and waits until I get in bed and all comfortable then she starts whining at my door wanting in.
Love your card. I have just ordered that set and am looking forward to it.
I have to give praise, whetre praise is due! This card took my breath away! I literary gasp whrn I saw it! So, BEAUTIFUL! I felt like I was looking out the window, and could touch the fflowers andbranches/ stems. Now thzAt I’ve seen this card, I need this set too. I have a SU demo already, but had to Thank YOU for sharing this card!
Ann, Beautiful card!! Love the birds!
Haha, the pups thought they had you fooled.
Ohhhh Ann, those too with their “talking” is so cute, do wite a book. I don’t remember the name Sixxy did I miss something. My Urban does the same thing I take her out but no potty why not? because I just took her out an hour before. I had not seen those swallow dies but you really created a wonderful card with them. Good Boy Nueve gave me a big smile with his story today. Pictures say a thousand words too.
Very pretty card! Your puppy stories are hilarious! Love it!
Love your design and Nueve’s story cracked me up today. You are a strong mother. I would have weakened!
Ann, that card is stunning!! I love it. And then there’s the two pitiful doggies : )
