Are you ready for a little spring in your life? How about a friendship card in spring hues? It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week, the amazing LeAnne is hosting our Color Challenge. She has selected a trio of spring colors for us. I immediately thought of flowers. I can’t wait to see what YOU create for us this week!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Usually with a color challenge, I look to my stash of designer series papers for inspiration. However, much to my chagrin, I really didn’t have anything interesting in these colors. SO…out came the stamps and inks, and I created my own. The larger Crane of Fortune flower was inked in So Saffron, which I randomly stamped onto a Basic White panel. I stamped leaves of Mint Macaron to fill up the white space. To add a little texture, I embossed this panel with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. Of course, you know me! I could not resist adding some leafy frond die cuts in the challenge colors, and a splash of glimmer paper sparkle!

Notes from Nueve
It’s been really sad here since Great Uncle Brody left us to go cross The Bridge. But, Sixxy and I have been extra good, and we have worked extra hard to try and make Mom and Dad smile.
We had our birthday Thursday. Mom and Dad took us to the special doggy toy store. We got to pick out a toy. I picked out a tennis ball shaped like a bone. Sixxy was a copy kitty, and picked out the same thing. Plus, we got Frosty Paws. We all gobbled it down really fast, even Uncle Jackie, who has been really sad. He’s been crying, and sleeps on Great Uncle Brody’s night-night bed, even in the day. He NEVER sleeps on Great Uncle Brody’s night-night bed, ever!
Sixxy and I have included him in our playtime to make him happy. He might be bigger and stronger, but I am faster. He can’t get past me!
See my special vest? Sixxy and I are practicing wearing our Holter vests. Now that we are big kids, we have to get special tests done on our hearts, so we have to wear a machine on our back that has wires coming from it. They are called ‘trodes. Mom said the ‘trodes measure how good our hearts beat.
We will have to wear the machine for 24 hours. Mom said that means that when I get tested, I’ll eat breaksy, have the machine and special vest put on, and then I won’t get them taken off until after I eat breaksy again. She made us wear the vest for practice all afternoon, to make sure we could run, play, potty and eat with it on. We have to practice a few more times before we get the machine put on so we won’t be stressed. I know my heart will be really good.
Well, I have to go help Mom. She said she has lost her mojo. I don’t know what that is, but I am going to help her find it anyway. It’s my job. I am a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!

Beautiful card, Ann! That double bow is a sweet detail.
Ann, your card is gorgeous and filled with your beautiful touches – glimmer paper, shimmer and shine, and that wonderful bow! I especially love the fabulous stamping you did to create your own floral background for the focal point. I am so sorry you are going through such a hard time of loss. Hope your weekend goes well.
Ann,
another gorgeous card. I love the layers of florals and you used these colors beautifully. I have been thinking about you – our furbabies stay in our hearts for ever and are never with us long enough.
hugs
jaydee
Yes! I am ready for spring! What a lovely card to remind us its right around the corner.
glad you have such great company to help you heal from your loss…
Ann, I just love the double bow on this beautiful card! The soft, gorgeous background stamping if so gorgeous! I love every detail! I always love to hear of your doggie adventures. Your stories are always so touching! Warm hugs, My Friend!
Such a pretty card, Ann! Wanted to swing by and let you know!
Ann, It looks like Nueve is doing a good job of helping you get your mojo back! So sorry for your loss but you and he had many times to look back on and know that you were the best “Mom” ever! Thank you for sharing your love of the “kids” and their stories. I love it!
The photos made me smile, as I’m sure they did you as you were posting them. Nueve doesn’t seem too upset about the ‘trodes, and I’ll be anxious to hear how their tests came out. Your beautiful card made me smile, too. That extra touch of glimmer paper was a winner!
Lovely card, Ann! I’ll definitely be using that for inspiration this week. Extra pats on the head for Nueve and Sixxy for including Uncle Jackie in their play to help him with his feeling of loss, as well as yours. Lots of hugs.
Oh Ann, I think this is so pretty! You’ve got your mojo for sure! I’m so sorry your lost your fur baby! I know how hard that is!! We had to say goodbye to our Charlie who was almost 16 last year! Hugs! May your memories help heal your heart!
Oh, Ann, your mojo is just FINE!! I think the pups must have helped you find it, because this card is your signature GORGEOUS! Love the background you stamped, and all the fronds and bow just make it fabulous! Hang in there…things will get easier every day! HUGS to you!
I love the sunny colours and fresh florals on today’s card Ann, paired with such a sweet sentiment and the perfect double bow! I’m sure this was even more difficult to make this week – I hope that good boy Nueve is doing his best to rally the troops; you all need to take time to process your loss for sure. Sending you the biggest hug!!
Such a pretty card! Your bow is perfect! How do you do that? I can well imagine Nueve is right about losing your mojo! I still miss our Aussie! I look forward to your blog and Nueve update! Xoxo.
Your card is beautiful. I had tears in my eyes reading Notes from Nuevo. Take care and stay strong.
I know how hard it is to get back into the groove with creating things after a furbaby passes…all the virtual hugs to you as you go through the grief process. I know your other dogs are grieving too and you’ll all get through it together. Your card looks beautiful, I like how you stamped your own patterned paper and the die cuts on top look great–especially the bit of glimmer paper.
Your card is beautiful…as are you! Not only are you that, but I can tell you are a strong woman. To do what you do with your fur babies takes strength. No wonder you have lost your mojo with all that is/has been going on. It’ll come back…Nueve WILL accomplish his mission! The tears flowed but were mixed with the joy of reading Nueve’s story. I hope Sixxy and Nueve pass their heart tests with flying colors. I’m sure Jackie feels the nearness of Brody on the blanket. You just wonder how they process the loss, don’t you?
Oh, Ann, you must have drowned the keyboard in tears while writing this – I know I did reading it. I can’t say or do anything to make it better, I know that, but am thinking of you all, always. B : (
