Tulips Make Me Smile

Flowers can have such a profound effect upon our emotions.  For me, roses bring back memories of romantic evenings, as well as memories of chaperoning over 30 years of proms.   Peonies take me on a sentimental journey to Grandma’s house, where the peonies grew on its sunny south side. And tulips? Well, tulips make me smile! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week, the amazing Jaydee is hosting our monthly sketch challenge. What a fabulous sketch she has for us!  To me, it just screams, “Show off your gorgeous designer series paper!”  So I did! I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

The biggest problem I had with today’s sketch was deciding which one of Stampin’ Up!’s gorgeous new designer papers I wanted to use. I decided on this lovely tulip pattern from the Flowering Fields collection.  I used a coordinated dotted pattern for the smaller strip. It formed the perfect backdrop for this amazing Tulip die cut.  Of course, I could not resist “blinging” up the Poppy Parade scalloped strip, which was created using the Peony dies. The result is a happy card, which will hopefully make the recipient smile!

Nueve’s Canine Corner

Mom gave me, Sixxy and Uncle Jackie a special treat today.  It’s called  “achoo”, like a sneeze.  Mom said it’s rawhide, but I don’t think it’s raw.  It’s definitely a hide though.  But, if Mom says it’s a raw hide, it must be.  We don’t get them very often, ’cause Great Uncle Brody gets rustfrated ’cause he can’t chew them very good.  But, he was napping today, so Mom said we could have them for awhile. Plus, she said I was being a pain in the patootie while helping her clean house, and this would keep me occupied.   For some reason, she didn’t ‘preciate me jumping on the mopper thing or killing the vacuum. I was only trying to protect her!

tulips make me smileAnd, I just don’t get the patootie word. Yesterday, she said I was a cutie patootie.  It’s so confusing.  But, I think Mom was just teasing me. I’m always a good boy! That’s me, Good Boy Nueve!
