Beauty, harmony, grace and good fortune! The crane has long been a symbol of each of these things in a variety of cultures. What better way to wish someone a happy birthday than with a serene crane birthday card! It’s time to play at Festive Friday – Home of the Inspo List!
For this week’s challenge, we are inspired by International Wetland Day, which is celebrated on February 2nd. Remember, at Festive Friday you do not need to actually celebrate or make a card for the occasion featured. Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project. I used birds, florals, green and birthday to create my card. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
A beautiful designer paper is the starting point for this serene crane birthday card. In fact, other than the crane and the sentiment, the paper does the work for today’s card. Can you believe that these gorgeous flowers were snipped from paper? A few die cut stems are all that is needed to zhuzh it up! The crane perches atop the sentiment, while a sprinkling of rhinestones adds a bit of sparkle.

Nueve’s Canine Corner
It’s me, Nueve! I gots something new to show you. My Mom bought me a special new necklace. She got it for me after her friend, Michelle, had her dog stoled. Jasper was in his crate in Michelle’s van being a good boy. He was at a motel in Minneapolis and was waiting to go to a dog show. A bad man stoled the van with Jasper in it. It was really cold in Minneapolis, and everyone prayed they would find Jasper before he got too cold and fell asleep forever. Jasper was stoled on Saturday, and they found the van with Jasper in it on Monday night. Jasper was still in his crate, and was very, very cold and hungry. I know he would have liked some of my “Good Boy Treats”. The bad man said he didn’t know Jasper was in the van. I know good boys don’t bite, but that bad man should be bited. (Oh, wait…Sixx is ‘rupting me!…It is too stoled, Sixx! That’s how you make people words mean something already happened. You put a “d” on the end. Stoled. Bited. Grrr…she thinks she knows everything!)
Anyway, Mom got worried about what would happen if I got losted when we go to visit my human brother this year. I would be far away from my real home, and I wouldn’t know all of the strange houses and stuff. So, my dad got on the ‘puter and found some special dog necklaces that have something called GPS. I don’t know what GPS is, but Mom said because it has it, the necklace gives off free quincies, or something like that. I just know if the quincies are free, they must be good. The necklaces came in different colors, but I wanted pink. Sixx made fun of me. She said boy dogs don’t wear pink. But, I like pink. I wear Great Aunt Muffy’s necklace. It’s pink, and I LOVE it ’cause it still smells like her and has cupcakes on it. But, her necklace is starting to get too tight. Mom said I am getting to be a big boy now. That’s because I eat a lot of “Good Boy Treats”!
It has been really, really cold here. I wanted to go outside, but that bad dog, Frost, must be out there somewhere. Mom said we couldn’t out because we might get Frost bited. She says that all the time when it gets really cold. Why don’t Frost’s owners keep him on a leash so he can’t bite us? I even gave Mom my best “Puppy Dog Eyes” and tilted my head a little so I looked really cute, but she still wouldn’t let us go out and play.
So we just decided to take a nap.
I gotta go now and help Mom. We are going to make homemade puppy treats ’cause I’m Good Boy, Nueve!

I love this. It is so beautiful.
Another gorgeous card, Ann. Your mix of colors is fabulous. Such a serene scene.
hugs
jaydee
Beautiful card, I love what you did with that set, it really does have a calming feel to it. Also thanks to Nueve for sharing his story and letting us know Jasper was found!
This is such a beautiful card Ann – the crane is so serene and the flower adds a dramatic pop of colour. So glad to hear all turned out Ok for little Jasper. As for Nueve – he is most definitely rocking the pink collar!
Beautiful card! I love all the different elements that you used to create this scene. Nueve is quite the storyteller! I was happy to hear that Jasper was found. Tell Nueve that only true, strong men can wear pink!
Love Nueve’s stories…I look forward to reading his adventures! The card is serene and elegant, and now I want to get that bundle! Thanks for your inspiration, Ann.
Hey, Ann—prayer works!! And your babies are so beautiful! Oh-and that is one fine card, as well. 😆 That is such a gorgeous stamp set. Thx for sharing
Love this set….beautiful card! And so glad that pup was rescued! People can be just awful!
Ann,
I would like to purchase three stamp sets if that are still available. The welcoming woods, reflected in nature and the stars are shining set. Please let me know if they are
I so love the dog pictures and story. Take care in the cold. My dog goes in seconds outside and pulls to go in.
This is gorgeous. Ann. I love the coral, gray and black color scheme and the softness of the stamped images. Very peaceful indeed.
Beautiful card. Fun Nueve story. I missed that they found the van and Jasper. When Ted gets adventurous, we usually know he goes to the neighbors who give him treats or to Central College but I am always worried someone will steal him though he would have to be lifted up into a vehicle to make a get away.
The card is beautiful but I really loved Nueve’s story. I would LOVE to know what our cat is thinking because she looks longingly at the front door but it’s very cold here in Wisconsin too! We don’t let her run freely but do take her out on a leash in warm weather. Such a sweet story on such a cold day!
Love your pup stories! And your card is beautiful as always 🤗
Wow Ann this is a another Beautiful Card, I love how you can bring in so many different elements into a card. You are an inspiration
The card is beautiful, of course, but Nueve’s post is just magical! I just found out that Meat Loaf died yesterday – he was a huge part of my life and I am shattered, but reading Nueve’s post made me smile, then chuckle, then laugh aloud…really lifted my spirits. Thanks for all you do!
