Faux watercoloring using Blender Pens and inks is one of my favorite techniques. There is just something so relaxing about coloring, whether it is with Blender Pens, Stampin’ Blends, or Watercolor Pencils! In need of a little “me” time on this late November afternoon, I sat down, Blender Pens in hand, and engaged in a little watercoloring fun. With this cute image from Mistletoe Friends in front of me, I settled in with two old dogs at my feet, a cup of hot tea, and the TV turned to the Hallmark Movie channel. I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ when folded.
Faux watercoloring with Blender Pens and inks is so easy! After stamping the image in Basic Black Archival ink, I select the color I want to use, and simply touch the tip of my Blender Pen to the corner of the ink pad. I remove excess ink on scratch paper, and then I “paint”. I remove quite a lot of color in the process before touching the image because it is always easier to add more color as I shade. Another little tip is I will outline in Stampin’ Write Markers, and then pull the color into the image using a Blender Pen.
Clear Wink of Stella accents the snow, as well as the fur on the Santa Hat and the snow flakes. In addition, rhinestones and pearls add a bit of sparkle and glam.

Ann, you are such an artist! I love this card, and honest I have just seen it, I hadn’t before I did mine which has a very similar idea. I would love lessons from you.
Wow! What a delight and such gorgeous use of all those colors!
What an adorable card along with such beautiful coloring.
So pretty, Ann! Thanks for the reminder and tips for using blender pens. Mine have been forgotten so I will have to pull them out soon! Love the snowfall look you added with the dry embossing.
Newest member of the family – Oh, I can hardly wait to see!
Love your card and thanks for the tips on water coloring. All the extra little touches are so fun. I hardly ever use my blender pen but I sure use my aqua pens. I need to ink up the tree of cats and dogs and play with that image some.
Looking forward to seeing what is on sale tomorrow!
