The Paper Players is one of my favorite challenges. So when I had a few minutes free today, I seized upon the opportunity to play along. This week, the talented LeAnne Pugliese has a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us.
I was able to fill up three of the rows: Red – Glitter – Snowflakes; Red – Washi Tape – Ribbon; Diecut – Pine – Ribbon. I did take the liberty of counting Clear Wink of Stella as “glitter”, and Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine as ribbon. However, this was still a challenge which took me time to plan out. Originally, I was going to use the Steam Engine from Christmas Magic. Suffice it to say, I have a water colored locomotive to use on another card, another day. Do you ever have days like that? In the end, I used the sentiment from Wrapped in Warmth, and combined it with some Gold Foil pine diecuts from the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies collection. I hope you enjoy today’s effort!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ when folded.
Gold paired with Cherry Cobbler is one of my favorite color combinations for the holidays. I love the elegance of Gold Foil and the warmth of Cherry Cobbler.
I adore this sentiment from Wrapped in Warmth! I used Stampin’ Markers to selectively color it. Of course, I gave the stamp a good “huffing” after inking it up, to make certain the inks transferred easily to the paper.
Soft Sky Snowflakes, from the stamp set Peace This Christmas, were outline with Clear Wink of Stella and adorned with Pearls.
A Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine bow and loops of Gold Baker’s Twine gracefully accent the Gold Foil Pine Cones.
I hope whomever receives this card for Christmas will be pleased with it. And, as a bonus, I have a great start on another card…as soon as I figure out what to do with a water colored Christmas Express!
I am off on an adventure this weekend, and will be traveling to Kansas City for Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage local. Nearly twenty of my downline and sideline are gearing up for a Saturday filled with fun, stamping, and friendship. If you are in attendance, please be sure to say “Hi”! As always, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…
This is gorgeous!
Exquisite in gold and cherry cobbler!
Very pretty! I really like the new dies!
Ann, this is stunning! Every detail is perfect! Love that plaid washi tape! Such an elegant card! Are you in Atl this weekend? If so, have a blast! It is gorgeous weather here. XX
This is stunning Ann! So elegant, I love it:)
A beautiful card, Ann! Love the pine branches and pin cones in gold–so elegant paired with Cherry Cobbler. I, too, missed this plaid washi tape and it’s fabulous! So glad you could join us this week at The Paper Players. Have a great time at On Stage!
Anne….you’ve had that gentle touch with making cards!
Hello Ann: The Pretty Pines die set arrived at my house last week and I ADORE IT!!!
This is one of those SU die sets that will endure the test of time, a gorgeous investment for your Holiday card making for years to come.
And, as always, your amazing and elegant style shines through on this gorgeous card, beautifully detailed and layered, the pearls add just the right touch.
Pinning and CASEing!!!!!
Big hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.
I have this bundle and love what you did….and how and what you used to create it….beautiful!
You have such a wonderful flair for making cards. This one is no exception. Lovely!
Glad you had ‘a few’ minutes to spare’ and created this stunning card. Gold and Cherry Cobbler sure are pretty together. Whoever receives this card will be very lucky. Safe travels and enjoy (I’ll be in Secaucus).
Stunning, Ann! I can’t believe you made this in ,” a few minutes.” Beautiful, especially the Pine cones.
Gorgeous! I had to smile, you had a “few minutes to spare” – looks like it took you hours to get it just right! I love everything about this card. Who knows, this beauty might find it’s way to Pella! Fingers are crossed though they are sore from last night with the Cubbies playing. I wouldn’t change a thing on this pretty card. I bet that train water colored piece will find a place easy enough if Kim has anything to say about it! Have fun at the On Stage event. I sure wish I could make it a go as a demo!
This is just beautiful, Ann! I DO consider WOS “glitter”….it’s the easy kind of glitter, no mess! I love your color combination and your sentiment, and of course the pines cones and “greenery”. I was intrigued by the plaid until I realized it was washi tape! Hmmmm, that one just passed me by in the catalog, I am going to have to revisit that page! Thanks for playing with my tic-tac-toe challenge this week!
