It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the lovely Laurie has a Clean and Simple Theme Challenge for us: Frames! Since I did not have an eyeglass frame image, I opted to create an oval frame using oval framelits. I hope you enjoy today’s easy card!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- Snip it! The flowers were faux watercolored with Blender Pens and Soft Sky, Night of Navy and Always Artichoke inks. A little trick I like to do is to outline them with the corresponding color of Stampin’ Write Marker. After fussy cutting, I added colored pearls to the centers.
- Frame it! Oval Framelits were used to cut a frame to enhance the flowers. Of course, I could not resist the urge to add a few pearls. These were colored using Soft Sky Blendabilities. Although they have been discontinued, I kept mine for…you guessed it…coloring pearls!
- You’ve got a “friend”! Once in awhile I get brave enough to stamp directly onto the card, instead of onto a banner. When I do, I always use a Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card! It has been a busy week/weekend for sure! Between jury duty, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, potty training puppies and a dog show, there has not a dull moment here. Lexi has started her quest for her Grand Champion title, and won Best of Opposite Saturday. There were heat advisories and wouldn’t you know it…the air conditioning was not working well at the show site. However, we were able to get a picture of her not panting. She is with her handler, Terri.

Ann this card is absolutely gorgeous! I love how you used the etched background and have the flowers spilling out of your oval frame and those eye-catching blue pearls bring the whole thing together! All are gorgeous from your card to Jack and Kia! Lexi is just too cute with the tongue. Wow, she is on her way with the winning! All that heat was really getting to me. Teddy had colitis and a staph infection so at least part of the time he was o.k. with staying inside. But, he still managed to make sure we went to student cafeteria area at Central campus so he could be petted by all the camp kids. The football players were such suckers for him and would sit on the ground and get him ice cubes to eat or water. Lots of selfies taken with him.
You know how much I love ALL your cards, Ann, but this one has to be right up there at the top of All Time Favorites! Absolutely gorgeous! Been on the fence about the artistic stamp set, but now I know I need it! Thank you so much for sharing your talents!
