Just Kidding for The Paper Players

IMG_1923It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week, Claire has a fun Tic Tac Toe Challenge!  I was excited to ink up the new “Just Kidding” photopolymer set, and create a bright and cheery card for my friend, Gena…just because!  Unexpected cards are always the best ones to receive…and to send!  Enjoy this quick and easy card!

This finished card measure 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long when folded.

  • Faux watercoloring! Blender Pens and inks were used to faux watercolor the image from Just Kidding.  Her hair is a mixture of Chocolate Chip and Tangelo Twist; her sweater is Lost Lagoon; and her skirt is Blackberry Bliss.

  • Embossed border!  I used the Lacy Scalloped Border from the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders collection to create this delightfully feminine border.  I thought it looked sweet with the Polka Dot Daffodil Delight paper.

  • Bow! Stampin’ Up!’s Whisper White Organza Ribbon makes the most beautiful bows! Once again, it pairs perfectly with this paper.

IMG_1918-001Today’s card was fun to make.  Although I am not a huge fan of cartoon stamps, I thought this set was adorable.  I purchased it with several friends in mind, which is a little unusual for me.  Many times I buy a set with absolutely no idea of how I will use it.  I just like it.  Or I’ll see someone create something cute with it, so I buy the set, then never use it.   Ugh.  How about you?  What causes you to buy a set? Won’t you let me know in your comment today?  Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one! Of course, if you ever have a question about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

  1. Ann, there are so many people I could share this card with! I love the yellow with the polka dots – the perfect backdrop for your fabulously colored image. Good luck with your mini-muffins 🙂

  2. I’m not usually a fan of cartoon stamps either but this one is adorable! I love how you’ve combined it with your own style. The happy polka dot paper just adds to the fun! Hoping all goes well with the mini muffins!!

  3. Such a fun ‘ just because’ card! The yellow is so cheerful and as always, your details are fantastic. I love he embossing peeking out from under your ribbon and beautiful double bow! Haven’t heard a peep from you today so I’m guessing you’re too busy helping puppies come into the world…can’t wait to hear the news!! Hugs!

You have enough on your mind with those BABIES coming….I must say, that x-ray was a bit spooky but oh-so-cool at the same time! How exciting it all must be!!!

  6. Ann, this is so cute! I love this sentiment! All to true! Polka dots and a bow are two of my favorite things! SUPER fun card!

  7. What a fun card and just perfect to send to a friend! I’m sure she’ll appreciate it and get a laugh out of it – it made me laugh when I read the sentiment!

  8. Why is this sentiment something I can actually hear you saying?! Such a fun card, Ann! Love the polka dots and that perfect bow. 🙂

  9. Cute! Love this new stamp set! And you picked the sentiment that just made me buy it!

  10. Super cute card Ann! I love the bright and cheery colors and your pretty coloring too. This is a card sure to put a smile on your friend’s face!

I buy sets because I just love them, or see a pretty card made with one, or for a particular occasion in mind (but these sets usually sit on a shelf). If I can see a set used in different ways, like with your lesson of the month club, I’m much more inclined to buy it because I see the possibilities and the great value it has. ; )

  11. I buy sets that I plan to use or coordinate with what I already have. Sometimes , though, I just love the stamps. And sometimes something different just catches my eye.

Cute and love the colors you used. Unfortunately, I sort of feel like the card…

  13. the minute that i saw this stamp set i knew i was going to buy it. LOVE the sayings. haven’t used it yet but there are birthdays coming up that might make me ink ’em up. usually when i buy a stamp set initially it’s because i like it. but lately i’ve been watching Pintrest and what stamp sets they are using most is what make me purchase the set (s)

  14. Very cute card! I buy stamp set all the time because I saw something that someone else did with a stamp. And yup, then it sits on the shelf, too. I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one that does that. Waiting eagerly to hear about Muffy’s babies!

  15. So funny! AND so cute! I can think of quite a few people to send this too! Awesome card.

  16. What an adorable punny card! Love the sentiment, it cracks me up! Your coloring is perfect too, Ann!

  17. Love your picks on this challenge Ann, this is such a cute, delightful card, I love this image and all the sentiments on this set. Your bow is gorgeous, thank you for sharing.
PS. I can’t wait till you give all of us the wonderful news that Muffy’s babies have arrived!!!!! 😉
