What happens when you have new items from the Spring Catalog that you are just itching to play with, yet you still need to make Christmas cards? Why you just combine the two! I used the new Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, added Christmas Designer Paper hexagons, and topped it off with a wintery greeting. The result? A holiday card with a decidedly country look which I hope you will like!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Easy Holiday Card
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.
- Hexagons! Snippets of patterns from the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper collection and a pattern from the Bandstand Simply Scrappin’ Kit were zipped through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Hexagons were then snipped out using the embossing lines as a guide. How easy is that to get hexagons that are a perfect fit into the Naturals Ivory honeycomb cells!
- Pearls for Pizzazz! Notice how the Warm Winter Wishes sentiment from Winter Memories was stamped into a partial honeycomb cell? This gives the sentiment a clever twist. Of course, I had to add a few Basic Pearls!
Muffy’s Puppy
Once again, Muffy the Boxer went through her “special” time, which results in her annual false pregnancy. Some of you may remember that last year she gave birth to a latex football.
Muffy with last year’s “puppy”. |
Well this year she gave birth to a latex fish. This is the same fish that starred with Muffy in her famous The Howling video. Poor sweetie! Muffy is such a good momma. Her baby is kept clean and warm, and she makes sure it is in a position to nurse. I took the following pictures right after she had her “baby“.

A worried Muffy protects her baby. |
Exhausted, Muffy finally rests, her “baby” nestled safely between her front legs. |
I hope you enjoyed another peek at the new HoneycombTextured Impressions Embossing Folder. I can already tell that it is going to make my Spring Catalog “Top Ten List”. And I hope you also enjoyed the peek at Muffy’s new baby. Hopefully we can get her body back into show shape before her next show in January. As always, I appreciate your comments, and I do read each and every one. Until next time…

This is fabulous! What a cute idea, I love the country look! That new embossing folder is going on my next order for sure!
Muffy is such a good mommy! She really takes good care of her baby! When Amber was going through her “special” time about a month ago, she carried a favorite stuffed toy around constantly and would bring it to us to show us her baby. It really was very sweet.
Love the card you created with this new folder Anne-great country look-sweet Muffy
Amazing card….the pearls just really set it off! I cannot believe that you hand cut all of those hexagons…lets hope that SU! will grant our wish for a punch and save our hands, wrists and arms! TFS!!!
Cute card! Gotta love the hexagons…they are super H-O-T right now. Sooo wish there was a coordinating punch. Muffy is a good mommy, too. Congrats to her on her little fishy baby. 🙂
Very unique card that I really like. Of course I have not seen the spring catty, but you have me very interested in that embossing folder. Very interesting baby–I wonder if other animals do the same thing. I really think should be an excellent mom. Dar
I really like the card you made. My pre-order just arrived today, so I’m excited to start creating! Thanks for the inspiration!
Love the card! Looks quilted! O.k. how about a video of how you did the sentiment with the partial honey comb thing? Great job as always complete with pearls. 56 pearls????
Sweet Muffy – is this also one of Brody’s toys? What does Lexi think about all this?

Aw, poor Muffy! You need to get that dog a little stuffed puppy or somethin’!! Anyhoo, this card is awesome….I can’t wait to get my EF and make some of these too! What a fun card!
Such a pretty card, Ann! I look forward to playing with the new EF when it comes available for sale. As your card shows, the design options are multiple and looks like fun!
Muffy looks like she is taking such good care of her “baby”. What a sweet girl!
Love the hexagons! I have this embossing folder but haven’t “christened” it yet. Thanks for the inspiration, Ann!
I love this card! The hexagons are right up my alley. I’m praying SU comes out with a matching punch.
Ann, I always come to see the cards but I stay for the personal touch your blog has. I adore seeing pictures of your boxers. Muffy is a dream girl! What a sweetie! They always make me smile! :0)
Love this card Ann! I am getting this embossing folder so I am anxious to try it out! Great example for me to follow, thanks a bunch!
Ann, what a clever combination! It came together so well. Muffy is so sweet with her “baby”. Is a real baby in Muffy’s future?
Beautiful card Ann!
Amazing card, Ann…LOVE the way you designed the message!
this is a beautiful card–I’ve been wanting to play with that folder but haven’t had time to play with any of the new stuff yet-too busy knitting fingerless gloves for Christmas gifts. But now I’ll have to put them down for a while and play with paper!!

Cute card, Ann! And cute Muffy’s Puppy!
Love what you did with that new embossing folder. It’s a great Christmas card!
I remember when you told about Muffy “giving birth” the first time. I had never heard of a dog doing that before. I’m not sure if it is comical or sad. 🙂 Looks like she would be a really good mother.
The honeycomb is fabulous! Love the holiday patterned inserts! And tell Muffy I have a crazy little poodle or two that I can ship out to her to babysit for a while!
Hi Ann,
I love this card too and I love the idea of a opuncc to coordinate with it. I will be getting it as soon as possible.

Hi Ann! What a happy card, I love it! Those hexagons are so trendy right now. So happy to see SU carry this.
Poor little Muffy. She must get so confused with this happening. What a great mom she would make though!
Love your card. Got my goodies yesterday. Can’t wait to play.
Loved your pictures of Muffy. She would make a good mommy!
Cute card Ann and such a great idea! Muffy is a beautiful girl and I’m sure she’ll win lots of blue ribbons in January!
Gosh, seems like ages since I’ve been here. Haven’t forgotten about you just busy on this end. (no rest for the wicked so they say)
Love your card Ann. What a unique way in making the sentiment tag. :}
Muffy, take good care of your baby even tho it doesn’t look anything like you. (Must be from a mixed breed.) :}
Have a great week and stay warm. Heard Iowa got snow. We have freezing temperatures here. Brrrrrr. not used to the cold.

very clever
love the fur ball stories
WOW, Ann! What a neat idea to cut out the hexagons! My mind is swirling with ideas! Lovely card you have created. New stuff is so much fun!! Thank you for sharing your creativity.
Hugs to Muffy.
What a happy card!
Gorgeous! Get to play with my new things today too…yippeee!! I love how patient and kind you are with Muffy. What a sweet girl she is!
Oh yeah, this EF goes straight to the top (okay, it’s the first item on the list) of my wish list. SU definitely needs a coordinating hexagon punch, hint hint. Awesome card, thanks for sharing.
Poor Muffy…give her a hug for me.
This card is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION, Ann! FOr the record, there are 56 pearls on this 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card. Way to go!
I love this card, Ann. It is bright and cheery, nostalgic and trendy all at the same time.
The.new EF certainly contributes to your eye catching card. I think It will be on my must-have list. Love the pops of color from the dsp.
This card is wonderful! I love the hexagons of dsp. It would be great if SU would have a hexagon punch to fit into the embossed ones. That would be a lot quicker than snipping them! Great idea, Ann!
Awwww how sweet!
I remember those ‘special’ times all too well with Asti. She used to give birth to a rubber bone lol… bless.
All the wooflets are looking absolutely gorgeous as usual.
Hope you are keeping well my friend. x
LOVE THIS IDEA!!!! Still waiting on my goodies. I hope it arrives before too long!!! Hugs!
