Halloween – a night when mischief and magic are afoot! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
The incredible Laurie is hosting our monthly color challenge. For our stamping fun, she has selected a colorful trio, plus any neutral color of your choice. I took the easy route, and created a Halloween card. However, these colors are so versatile, I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
So many patterns of designer series paper decorate this Halloween magic card, and magically they all work together. With the exception of the witch’s hat, the patterns are fairly subdued, and all are small in scale. That makes all the difference. What fun I had adding layers and bling, two of my favorite things! Thank goodness for glimmer paper and glitter washi tape! I simply aligned the Old Olive washi on paper to form a rectangle large enough to accommodate the witch hat builder punch and the tendril die from the Rustic Pumpkin die collection. Easy!

Nueve’s Note’s
Hey, everyone! I’m on a ‘venture! I’m visiting my people-brother, Brady, and my Auntie Kia. Auntie Kia is Uncle Jackie’s sister. Mom and Dad hadn’t seen them in four years. We drove out. The first day, after we stopped, we saw a place called The Corn Palace. Mom took my picture by a big ear of corn.

The second day, we saw a place that looked really bad. It didn’t have any grass. Mom said it’s called the Badlands.

There were some special areas for people to take pictures. We stopped at one, and Dad took our pictures. The sky is so big there! Mom made sure it wasn’t too hot for my feet. It wasn’t. It was kind of chilly that day.

We had to be careful. At some of the potty places, they had signs that said watch out for rattly snakes. I don’t have any rattly snakes, but I do have two squeaky snakes I play with at home. Mom said the rattly snakes are dangerous and I must NEVER play with them. Luckily, we did not see any.

I have lots more pictures to share about my ‘venture. Mom said I get to share more next time. It’s exciting! I get to go hiking, and I get to go to markets, and I get to play with Auntie Kia at the dog park. It makes Auntie Kia happy, and making others happy is part of my job. After all, I am a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!

On a personal note: Thank you to all who have emailed me about me sister. She passed away September 29th. I received the call from my niece, just as we had pulled into Brady’s. He was hugging us when the phone rang. We left on this trip with her love and her blessing. We both knew that her time was nearing, but she insisted that we not postpone our trip. However, I know in my heart that she waited until she sensed we had arrived safely at our destination before passing.
It’s so hard and so sad, losing a sister. I am heartbroken. Yet, I know she is at peace, and is no longer suffering. I can still feel the touch of her hand, and the sound of her voice as she said “I love you”. I feel her with me. Last Sunday, Kim, Brady and I saw a hummingbird in the yard. My sister loved hummingbirds. She was buried in her hummingbird necklace and earrings. I know the hummingbird we saw was a sign from her that all was going to be okay.

I couldn’t travel back for her memorial service, but she knew that before we left for Seattle. Brady, Kim and I will celebrate her life at a beautiful place out here today. She loved the outdoors and flowers, and I know she will love the place we have selected. We will share our favorite memories of a beloved sister and aunt. We will laugh and we will cry. And we will rejoice because our lives were richer and better because she was in them…
