A Sense of Time PPA87

It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts.  Our challenge this week is “Punches”! Simply use a punch anywhere on your card.  And for a bit of fun, can you name the four punches used on my card today?  The answer can be found at the end of today’s post.  On to the card…

The Stampin’ Schach Stampin’ Tips:

  • It starts with texture! The Music pattern from Newsprint Designer Series Paper was zipped through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  More texture is found on the Always Artichoke leaves punched from the Two-Step Bird Punch.
  • Follow with distressing! A Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede ink ages the edges of almost every element on this card.  A few Crumb Cake water spots were added courtesy of the Water Spot stamp from French Foliage. (Hopefully this stamp will be included in the new Idea Book and Catalog for those of you who did not purchase it from the Holiday Mini.)
  • Continue with embossing! The Clock Face from Sense of Time was stamped in VersaMark onto Vellum and then heat embossed with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  The Clock Face was placed onto a Naturals Ivory circle.
  • Finish with wonderful details!  Flowers punched with the Boho Blossoms Punch sport Basic Pearl centers.

A distressed Bird is accented with a Basic Pearl eye.
Cherry Cobbler roses balance the left side of the clock.
This card was lovingly made for my son, Brady, who will be performing in his college recital this Saturday. The music paper was a logical choice for a trumpet performance major. The red rosettes represent the love his family has for him.  The clock represents the passage of time…it hardly seems he should be finishing his Junior year.  The bird is a songbird, while the Boho Blossoms represent the bohemian spirit of the musical soul.  The sentiment, from Hope Happens, is very fitting for him.

And how about those punches! I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch, the Two Step Bird Punch, the Boho Blossoms Punch, and the Decorative Label Punch

Please let me know what you think about today’s card by leaving me a comment.  And remember, I am always available to answer any questions you might have about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use.  The winner of the Basic Pearls for comments left today and yesterday will be announced on my next post, which will be Saturday.  Until next time…

A Peek, a Pup and Pearls

Blogger is not working for me this morning. Sometimes the pictures are here…sometimes they are not. I am so sorry, but clueless as to what to do. I am trying to find a fix. Thanks…Ann

A peek at my Pals Paper Arts card, a picture of a pretty pup, and a chance to win a bite of blog candy.  Who could ask for anything more!

Well, I could.  I need a small wooden block to fit the tiny, single leaf stamp from Vintage Vogue.  Yes…Brody really did chew up a stamp…at least the wooden block.  I found the rubber leaf.  It has been a long time since I have used Vintage Vogue.  The rest of the set was safe in the case.  My only guess is that either he or Muffy must have snatched it from the table when I wasn’t looking. Where it was hidden for the past few months, I will never know!  But does this grumpy face look like the face of a common thief?

As for my PPA card, there is texture and there are pearls. Plus it is the first time I have used this set, which I received free through participation in Stampin’ Up!’s Demonstrator Business Developers Group. This was a set which I had always wanted, but had just never gotten around to purchasing, for whatever reason.  How about you?  Is there a stamp set that you would love to have, but you just can’t bring yourself to buy it?  I would love to hear your answers to this questions.  In fact, I will even spring for free Basic Pearls for your comments on today’s and/or tomorrow’s.  The winner will be randomly selected and announced on Friday.

There is still time to join me as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator while receiving 15% off the price of the Starter Kit and a Bonus Bundle valued at $50.   If you have questions, please email me.  Until next time…
