Clean and Simple for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to play with the Players at The Paper Players!  How does a Clean and Simple Sketch sound to you?  This week Jaydee has designed a fabulous one just for you.

The Stampin’ Schach Stampin’ Tips:

  • Looking for quick and easy? Let a stunning designer paper pattern take center stage! My favorite “DSP Du Joir” is Paisley Petals from the upcoming 2011 – 2012 Idea Book and Catalog.
  • Revved up ribbon! It’s a snap to achieve the “scrunchy” look simply by pulling a thread and shirring along the length! I selected Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding for a coordinated look.
  •  Luscious labels! The “Flourish” stamp from Strength and Hope was inked in Not Quite Navy and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock.  It was the punched out with the Decorative Label Punch and speckled using the Color Spritzer Tool and a Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker.  It was then layered onto a Cherry Cobbler Decorative Label.
  • Simple sentiments! The Friend sentiment from You’re a Gem was inked in Cherry Cobbler and punched out with the 1-3/8″ x 5/8″ Oval. After a little sponging and spritzing, it was popped up on the Decorative Label with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  A Strength and Hope Butterfly directs our attention right to it!
  • Everything’s better with bling! Basic Pearls adorn the Scallop Edge Border and the Butterfly’s body!
“Clean and Simple” should never be “Clean and Boring”.  It’s all in the details!  I can’t wait to see your Clean and Simple designs!  So won’t you play with The Players this week?

Hopefully it or my tips have inspired you in some way.  And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I make or the technniques that I use, I am only email away! A Peek at The Players

Saturday always brings a peek at my Paper Players challenge card.  Today is no different! I hope you enjoy it and will join me in the reveal tomorrow!  And don’t forget to check out The Paper Players site this afternoon to see who made the Cut Aboves and who was named The Headliner!

A Blog Award

First I was “Stylish” and now I am “Versatile”!  I recently received the Versatile Blogger Award from Kathi at Golden Paper Dreams.  As part of the award, I need to share facts about myself and pass the award on to bloggers who inspire me.  Of course, I have already shared so many things about myself, that I know you would be bored to read more facts.  However, I would like to share three blogs with you.  I am trying to spread the love around, so I hope these talented individuals have yet to receive this specific award!

Rita Wright—Cards by Rita
Linda Fisher—Linda’s Stampin’ Loft
Martha Stewart—Seasons of Stamping

If you have never visited these ladies before, please stop by and say “Hi!”  I know how difficult it is to create and write up posts, so I do appreciate the hard work these ladies put into their blogs and their designs.

And although I won’t share any facts today, I will share a “Muffin” with you.  Here is Muffy checking out the kids again as they walk home from school:

Please join me tomorrow for the full reveal of my Paper Players’ card.  And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

Buried Treasure

“Buried Treasure” is a new Friday feature.  What are “Buried Treasures”?  They are cards from my archives which are deserving of a revisit.  Whether it’s a layout, a technique, or maybe just an underused stamp set, these cards are like a pirate’s booty of ideas worth a second look.  Today’s card first appeared on The Stampin’ Schach on June 17, 2009.  CLICK HERE to see the original post with all of the delicious details!

Layout:  This card has a layout that is perfect for showcasing Stampin’ Up!’s variety of Designer Series Paper.  In fact, I have some ideas just dancing around in my head on how I would love to use this sketch!
Technique:  Watercoloring with Blender Pens and inks, with a few free-handed trees added for good measure, is always a classic!
Update it: Baker’s Twine? Antique Brad? Fanfold Flower?  Since 2009, Stampin’ Up! has added so many fabulous embellishments.  Or if you like the button, update it with a bigger one.
I hope you liked today’s “Buried Treasure”.  I would be anxious to hear how you might change this card up.  Is there a particular stamp set you think would work well with this layout? A certain Designer Paper?  Let me know what you think in your comment today!

LOVE the colors Ann…that butterfly is stunning! {SMILES}

Nikki, just send me your address and I will get your rhinestones winging their way to you!

Brody’s Neighbor

A few posts ago, I mentioned Brody’s “Neighbor”.   “Neighbor” is battling an illness that has curtailed her activities drastically.  One of the things she enjoys is watching the Twins through her window.  We make certain to position ourselves where she can see us through her window as we play “Dog Show”.   After reading this post, Tionya mentioned in her comment, and Pauline agreed, that “Neighbor” might appreciate a card to brighten up her day.  Several others of you have emailed me in support of this idea.  If you would like to send your cards to me, I will make certain that “Brody’s Neighbor” receives them.  In fact, we will have Brody deliver them.  I would suggest cards such as “Hello”, “Just a Note”, or another light and cheerful greeting.  Since getting well may not be an option for “Brody’s Neighbor”,  “Get Well Soon” cards would not be a good choice. EMAIL me if you would like to participate.
Need a Summer Mini?  Just EMAIL me your address and I will drop one in the mail for you! If you are already a customer,  one has been ordered for you through Stampin’ Up! and will be mailed to you directly through the mini catalog mailing service.  Expected delivery date is prior to May 1st.
Once again, I will be looking forward to your redesign ideas for this card in your comments! And as always, if you have any questions about the cards that I make or the techniques that I use, don’t hesitate to email me! Until next time…
