Thank You, Teacher for the Pals

Thursdays are always special here at The Stampin’ Schach because I get to reveal my Design Team Inspiration card.  This week our challenge is Clean and Simple Elements of Style…Brads.  This week  I have designed a Thank You card for all of the teachers who frequent my blog.  I know first hand how hard you work and how much you care.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:
  • Dare to try! I had never tried the Stampin’ Up! Builder Wheels, but how cute is this adorable apple “For Teacher” design paired with “Elementary Alphabet”.  Must haves are the Builder Wheel Spindle and Spacers, the Triple Cell Cartridge, and for me, the Stampin’ Around Wheel Guide, to help me do straight “wheelies”.  Colors of choice…Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black stamped onto Naturals Ivory card stock.
  • Texture! My Crumb Cake card base was zipped through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  A small strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock was added to the bottom to compensate for the minimal loss of length due to embossing and to add an easy design element.
  • Head for the borders!  Cherry Cobbler Scallop Trim Borders flank both sides of the image, while Basic Black Dotted Scallop Ribbon Borders were stitched with Cherry Cobbler/White Baker’s Twine.  Pressed for time?  Omit the stitching!
  • Finishing touches! The “Thank You for Being You” sentiment from the Bold Blossom set was selectively inked using a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, stamped onto Naturals Ivory card stock, and layered onto a Basic Black Decorative Label.  Three Basic Black Glimmer Brads balance the layout.
This was my first experimentation with using Builder Wheels.  How fun! I was a little afraid to use them…afraid that they would not stamp correctly.  Boy was I in for a surprise! They were sooo easy! So what do you think of today’s card? Remember, your comments are important to me.  And as always, I freely share what I know. So if you ever have a question about the cards that I make or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

Stylish Blogger Award and Six New Blogs I Have Discovered

Jackie Watson, of Creative Designs by Jackie, recently awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award.  To quote Jackie:  “I love your blog and tips and most of all the adventures of the Twins.”  Isn’t she so sweet…she loves my furbabies, and their shenanigans!
I always appreciate receiving these awards for two reasons.  First of all, it lets me know that people really are visiting The Stampin’ Schach and that you are being inspired in some way.  I guess that is still the teacher in me…I want to inspire; I want you to learn at least one new piece of information.  Secondly, it allows me to share other stampers’ blogs with you.

This time around, I searched out stampers who are relatively new to me.  I hope you enjoy them, and that you will leave them a little of the same sweetness that you leave me!  Here we go, in no particular order:

Lauri Ingram – Paperville
Maria Vanderform – Crafty Maria’s Stamping World
Sandra Azzopardi – Sandra’s Stamping Spot
Sandie Conner – Pretty Provisions
Tere Giardano – Stamp with Tere

Carrie Sampsel – Carries Scrapyard

Remember, your comments are so very important to me. If you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or techniques or Stampin’ Up! products, I am only an email away.  Until next time…
