From Me to You in 43

Welcome to The Stampin’ Schach and the second card in my From ME to YOU series! This feature highlights a card which can be made in less than 45 minutes, and includes a step-by step tutorial for those of you who would like to recreate the look. Today’s card took 43 minutes from start to finish, which included switching papers in midstream.  Therefore, it will probably take less time for you. This is a great choice for those who would like to create a more elegant card in a minimal amount of time. I hope you enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Quick and Elegant
  • The dimensions are as follows:  Very Vanilla Image Mat = 2-9/16″ wide x 3-9/16″ long;  Cherry Cobbler Mat = 2-11/16″ wide x 3-11/16″ long; Brushed Gold Mat = 2-13/16″ wide x 3-13/16″ long. The Very Vanilla embossed piece is 4-1/4″ square, matted onto a 4-3/8″ square Cherry Cobbler piece, which is in turn matted onto a 4-5/8″ square Brushed Gold piece.  The card base is a 5-1/4″ square of textured Very Vanilla.
  • Ink the Chickadee from Beautiful Season with VersaMark and stamp onto the image mat.  Heat emboss using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Lightly tint the leaves and berries using a Blender Pen and Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler inks.  Mat onto Cherry Cobbler followed by Brushed Gold.

  • Zip a piece of Very Vanilla card stock through the Big Shot with the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Trim to 4-1/4″ square.  Mat this onto Cherry Cobbler, followed by Brushed Gold.

  • Adhere the matted image to the matted embossed piece.
  • Adhere the ends of a 6″ piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding to the back of the Brushed Gold card stock in the position illustrated.  Attach to the textured Very Vanilla card base.  Add a Cherry Cobbler bow, and finish with Basic Pearls.

A Peek at the Pals and Pearl Winner

It’s time for a sneak peek at this week’s  Pals Paper Arts inspiration card.  I hope you will join me for the reveal Thursday.  My husband liked the color combination, and I will be anxious to hear what you think about it, too!
Would You Like this Card?

Just leave me a comment on today’s peek and Thursday’s reveal, and I will randomly select a person to receive this card from everyone who has left comments.

Pearl Winner

A huge thank-you goes out to everyone who left comments on my Paper Players card peek and reveal.  I do read each and every one.  I wish that I could send pearls to everyone…wouldn’t that be fabulous?  However, there can only be one winner…and this week the winner is:  Kathy in AZ!
Kathy in AZ said:
This is an absolutely beautiful fall card. It should be framed and hung up. You certainly are the master of design. I knew there had to be pearls somewhere as they are your trademark. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Kathy, just send me your address, and I will drop your pearls in the mail right away!
Congrats to UKC Grand Champion Do You Know the Muffin Man!
Muffy Lin, won Best of Breed Friday, and also won the Champion class on Sunday.  She earned her United Kennel Club Grand Champion title.  Brody was the Reserve Champion on Sunday.  I will have show pictures as soon as they become available.
And there is more fun news!  Both Twins auditioned for the Bruton Stroube advertising agency Saturday.  The photographer did a variety of test shots.  This agency does work for Purina, among other clients.  Who knows…maybe their faces will show up on a bag of dog food one of these days.  If not…it was still a load of fun seeing them have their test shots taken.
Oh my gosh…it seems like ages since I last posted!  In addition to my busy weekend, I have been dealing with a myriad of health issues including headaches and blurred vision, which finally precipitated a trip to visit my doctor!  And to add insult to injury, I strained a chest muscle when Brody headed out after a squirrel. Arghhh! Armed with meds for my head, and ice packs for my muscle, I should be on the mend. I go back for a follow-up check-up in two weeks.  So if you have left emails for me…please be patient! I will be catching up!  In the meantime, my chest and arm are starting to ache, so it is off to bed for me!  Until next time…

French Foliage for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented and lovely Jaydee is hosting a colour challenge…and I know that you will want to play along!  To me,  Bravo Burgundy, Cajun Craze, More Mustard and Very Vanilla are the colors of autumn.  So I pulled out my leaf stamps for examination, and opted to use the French Foliage set.  I hope you enjoy my Fall confection!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  A Touch of Fall

Today’s card measures 4-1/4″ wide and 5-1/2″ long.

  • Texture! The Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is a perfect choice for a fall card.  It exudes a warmth, especially when zipped through the Big Shot with Cajun Craze card stock.
  • Mute!  After randomly stamping the Very Vanilla background image mat with Bravo Burgundy, Cajun Craze, and More Mustard leaves from the French Foliage set, Vellum is layered over the top.  This allows the spray of leaves to take center stage.
  • Dazzle with details! Several leaves were stamped and fussy cut.  The edges were distressed with Soft Suede ink before adding Dazzling Details along the veins.  The result is gorgeous in real life.
  •  Depth and dimension! Stampin’ Dimensionals are perfect for “popping” up the leaves!

  • The “Wow” factor! Basic Pearls ring a More Mustard Spice Cake Designer Button, while a Hemp Twine bow adds the finishing touch!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. I am so anxious to read what you think of it…so please…won’t you leave me a comment.  And of course, if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away!  Until next time…
