A Peek at the Players

Here’s a little peek at my Paper Players inspiration card for this week!  There are several Occasions Mini products used, including the yummy Blushing Bride Smooch Spritz. I hope you will join me for the reveal on Sunday!

In the meantime, I am enjoying myself at the San Antonio Regional today.  However,  I can’t wait to head back to Iowa and my computer so I can share all I have learned with you!  Plus, I am missing my Twins, although I am sure they are still enjoying their “Doggie Vacation”!  Until next time…

Love and Laughter for the Pals

It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts.  This week the talented Margaret Moody is blessing us with a fabulous sketch.  I thought  the oval layer would be perfect for spotlighting the dress from Love and Laughter.  The multiple layers are right up my alley, and just ready and waiting for a healthy dose of texture!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

The finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Tempting Texture! Don’t be afraid to mix different textures on the same card!  This card boasts a triple threat of Textured Impressions Embossing Folders: Perfect Polka Dots for the Very Vanilla background layer, Snowburst for the Very Vanilla oval mat, and the adorable Hearts Adorning Accents for a Blushing Bride strip!
  • Say “Yes” to the Dress!  Inked in Riding Hood Red, to coordinate with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, this Bridal Gown sports a non-traditional Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon flounce, bedecked in Basic Pearls. A trio of Basic Pearls accentuates the waistline.
  •  Tip of the Day:  Use Sticky Strip to attach the flounce! It will hold securely around the curve!
  • Ribbon Rose! Pleated Satin Ribbon makes ribbon roses easy to complete!  All it takes is a little Sticky Strip on a punched card stock circle, and you can create this beauty in seconds!

  • Think Outside of the Box! The Riding Hood Red Sizzlit Doily, originally created for use on another card, receives a reprieve and major surgery!  One of the inner rings is perfect for n edging to add contrast for the oval mat.  All it take is a few snips here and there to create these “medallions”!

This is not a traditional wedding card in terms of colors…but can’t you just see this same layout in an elegant  monochromatic color palette?  I can…and it will be featured in an upcoming post!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and that you will indeed join us in our sketch challenge this week! In the meantime, won’t you please leave me a comment and let me know what you think about this Love and Laughter card?  Your comments are important to me…and I do read each and every one of them.  Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

A Peek at the PPA

It’s time for a snippet of this week’s Pals Paper Arts inspiration card.  This card showcases a set from the Occasions Mini, as well as the Paper Doily Sizzlits Die and the Adorning Accents Textured Impression Embossing Folders.  And did I mention that I have also used one of my favorite patterns from the Twitterpated Designer Series Collection?  I hope you will join me Thursday for the reveal!

At Leadership

As you are reading this, I am in San Antonio for Stampin’ Up!’s Leadership event.  I will be away from my computer until late Sunday.  I have scheduled all of my posts, and I hope that everything goes as planned!  But as we know, even the best laid plans sometimes go awry.  So keep your fingers crossed!

And for those who are wondering about the Twins, since Dad is away at work all day, the Twins are staying with their beloved handler, Michelle! It’s like a Doggie Vacation for them!  Until next time…
