Rainy days are always better when spent with a friend! It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week sweet, sweet Claire is hosting a theme challenge: Rainy Days. I LOVE rainy days. They are great for a multitude of activities: reading a book, cleaning out a closet, watching a movie OR just watching those old raindrops fall like the young lady in this image. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques. In the case of today’s card, paper piecing allowed me to express my inner interior decorator by creating a custom window seat cushion and pillow. I used a pattern from Perennial Lavender in shades of spruce and peacock. I was also able to channel my inner stylist, dressing this young lady from the In the Moment set in a Moody Mauve top and Boho Blue jeans courtesy of Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment, from Playing In the Rain, is one of my favorites.

To download the free step-by-step tutorial for today’s “Rainy Days for PP679 card”, which includes all the paper measurements and all of the current products used, please click on the button below. For every card which has been posted on my blog since 2019, there is a free tutorial.
A Note From Ann
Hi friends! Between showing dogs, cleaning up an Airbnb, and packing, I am writing a quick little note to apologize for today’s very short post. By the time you read this, I will be winging my way home from Seattle after attending Brady’s (our son) wedding. In typical Brady fashion, he and his fiancée Korin, set their wedding date as Leap Day. In what must be the worst example of planning on my part, after showing Nueve in Tallahassee, Florida on Saturday, February 24th, we would drive two long days back home to Iowa, deliver Nueve to his good friend Rose (who was already watching Sixx and Uncle Q), pack, and fly out at 5:00 AM Tuesday the 27th. Once in Washington, I would have one day to make boutonnières and create a floral collar and leash for Kia, the flower dog. Since all of this is happening in the future from the date I am writing this, I am sure I got all of this done and survived.
In the meantime, here is a picture of “Mr. Handsome Pants” strutting his stuff around the ring with his good friend, Michelle.

As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

This week the talented Anne Marie is hosting our monthly sketch challenge. The “layer lover” in me is absolutely gaga over her multi-layered sketch. While I incorporated a variety of different patterns from the Bee Mine designer series paper collection, I can’t wait to see what YOU create! I know it will be fabulous.

It’s Clean and Simple week at The Paper Players and I have the pleasure of being your Hostess. I have selected a friendship theme for you. I hope you love this theme as much as I do. While I opted for a floral friendship card, I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But remember, this is a CLEAN and SIMPLE challenge. Before you run off to gather your stamps, papers, and inks, keep in mind that when The Paper Players use the term “clean and simple”, we mean cards that:

I was a tired boy when the day was done and we headed back “home”. We are staying in a real house! It has a yard and everything. There are even dogs that live behind us. They are rude and bark at me. But that’s OK. I just walked away and worked at playing with my toys. Mom was very proud of me because I didn’t bark back. Sometimes you have to walk away from a fight. Being a good boy and making your Mom proud is just part of my job. I’m a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!
