Quick and Cute Smooches for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented and ever-so-sweet Nance Leedy has a delightful sketch challenge for us.  I opted for a quick and easy card, letting the adorable Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper amp up the cuteness factor for me.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Bright and Cute

This card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • KISS!  When using a busy and bright paper, like my favorite pattern from the Summer Smooches collection, Keep It Simple Sweetie! A simple image from the Bright Blossoms stamp set, framed in a Rich Razzleberry Oval Designer Frame, is just perfect when used with the coordinating Designer Series Paper.  And don’t forget to add a little bling in the form of Basic Rhinestones!
  • Snip and Curl! Although I used “Get Well Soon” from Thoughts and Prayers, almost ANY sentiment would work well with this design. With a snip and curl, transform “blah” to “ah”!  I simply free-hand snipped a “V” with Paper Snips on one end, and curled the other using the Round File from the Distressing Essentials Kit!
  • Double the Delight! A double Daffodil Delight Seam Binding bow completes the card. Snip the tails completely off…keeping it simple!

So there you go…quick and easy, bright and cheery! Please let me know what you think in your comment today! Your comments are important to me, and I make certain to read each and every one of them.  And don’t forget, if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away!

Coming up next week:  More Retired List Retrospectives AND my annual Birthday Blog Candy Blowout!  Until next time…

A Peek at The Players and Retired List Retrospective

Here is a quick peek at this week’s The Paper Players inspiration card.  It is bright! It is cheerful! It is easy!  I hope you will join me Sunday for the reveal!

Retired List Retrospective

I am continuing to say good-byto a few of the sets which will be retiring this year.  Today, the focus is on Dasher.  With his elegant, yet hauntingly beautiful, deco styling, Dasher dashed his way to lead the herd of my favorite ala carte stamps. He is one with which I will never part, yet I will cease to feature on my blog.  I hope you enjoy a final look at a few of the Dasher cards I have created.

If you do not own Dasher, and you would love to add him to your stable of stamps before he retires, his item number is 116816.  At $8.95, how can you live without him? Until next time…

A Rosette for the Pals

It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! This week the talented Margaret Moody has designed a sketch for us which is just up my alley! As for me, I translated the circular element into a rosette, using the Designer Rosette Bigz XL Die.  I had purchased this die during a pre-order last December and had never used it.  What was I thinking? I LOVE this die…and I hope you will love today’s card!  By the way…the only thing which was stamped was the sentiment! Enjoy a “Rosette for the Pals”…

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Using Designer Series Paper
This finished card measures 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″.

  • Rosette! I capitalized on the patterns in the beautiful Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper.  Using the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch, I punched out a circle which featured flowers and swirls.  This was adhered to a Rosette created with the Designer Rosette Bigz Die.  A few Basic Pearls and a snippet of Marina Mist 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, and the focal point of this card was complete!

  • Take a cue from the hue!  The Floral pattern from Beau Chateau was tinted using Blender Pens with Marina Mist and Pink Pirouette inks in order to match the Rosette image.  A quick zip through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder…and a trio of Pearls…adds texture and bling!

  • Forever and Always! With a curl and a snip, the sentiment from Loving Thoughts is the perfect finishing touch!

And don’t worry about an envelope for this one-of-a-kind card!  Just use the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate to create an envelope box!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  I know I enjoyed creating it for you! Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?  Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  And of course, if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques that I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

(Just a note:  Muffy Lin and I will be having a girls’ weekend away.  She and I will be out of town until late Sunday evening, with limited internet access.  So don’t despair if I don’t get to your questions right away.  There’s nothing better than spending time with your BPGP…Best Puppy Gal Pal!)
