It’s Thursday and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! This week the talented Margaret Moody designed a fabulous sketch…which I flipped over. Literally. I turned it upside-down and created a quick, vintage-style card using the new Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper and the new Forever with You stamp set, both of which will be available June 1st. It uses simple design tricks to achieve the vintage look. I hope you enjoy today’s card!
This card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ tall.
- Vintage colors! Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso and Not Quite Navy are perfect choices for inking up this vintage sentiment from Forever with You. Add a few Waterspots using the image from French Foliage and your focal point will look like it has been around for ages!
- Vintage accents! Scalloped edging was created using Adorning Accents Edgelits. Embellishing it with Basic Pearls adds a delicately feminine flair.
- Satin and Lace! Very Vanilla 5/8″ Satin Ribbon is perfect for a gorgeous bow! A snippet of Victoria Crochet Trim is reminiscent of an earlier era. Tip: If you are a fan of 5/8″ Satin Ribbon it is still currently available on the Retired List…but only while supplies last!
- Rolled Roses! The patterns in Comfort Cafe are perfect for preparing a trio of rolled paper flowers. Add a sprig punched from Always Artichoke using the Bird Builder Punch, and you have instant ephemera!
Isn’t this Designer Series Paper fabulous! I LOVE the collections that are being offered in the new catalog! And I think that Comfort Cafe will become one of my “go-to” papers.

| Catching a few “zzzzz’s” after a busy day helping mom address catalogs! |
The entire Schach Family can breathe a collective sigh of relief. Muffy Lin will be fine. This weekend she had a severe reaction to her new heartworm preventative, and became unresponsive. We really appreciate the actions of Dr. Rita, who spent her Mother’s Day mothering our baby girl. And speaking of Mother’s Day, Muffy is no longer fixated on her “baby”…which makes Brody extremely happy! He now has his football back!
So what do you think of today’s card…and the new products I used? Won’t you let me know in your comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them. Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards that I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…
