Shabby Chic Clean and Simple for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! The talented Nance Leedy has a fabulous challenge for us this week…Create a Clean and Simple Project Using Banners! Although I sponged around the edges of my card, it is still clean in the sense that there is lots of “white” space, and it is definitely simple.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Clean and Simple
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Texture! Yummy texture was imparted using the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It’s perfect for either a Shabby Chic or a Victorian flair!  It doesn’t get any quicker or easier!
  • Pretty pennants! Create pennants in a flash with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch.  To add a little pzazz, zip them through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Baja Breeze Seam Binding Roses add a “pop” of subtle color!
  • Beautiful Baja Blossoms!  The blossoms from Everything Eleanor were inked in Baja Breeze and stamped onto Naturals Ivory card stock and snipped out. Depth was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A single Basic Pearl adorns the center.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  It is easy to make, yet has a little “wow” factor associated with it.  Won’t you let me know what you think in today’s comment?  Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them.  And remember, your comment today will enter you into my Blog Candy Give-Away.  For more information about the Blog Candy, Click Here! Quick and Easy Card and Blog Candy Continued

Those of you who follow The Stampin’ Schach know that I rarely CASE cards, but today’s card is another CASE (Copy And Share Everything) from Stampin’ Success, the Stampin’ Up! demonstrators magazine.  The only thing I changed was that I used a pearl instead of  a rhinestone on the star.  Isn’t it sweet?  And it can be made in less than 10 minutes using scraps.

I used exactly the same paper as pictured in the magazine, which is from Festival of Prints.  However, I can’t wait to switch this out using the last scraps I have from my all-time favorite holiday paper…the retired beauty, Deck the Halls.  And think how cute this would be with some of the adorable retro patterns we have now!  I can’t wait to stamp a stack of these!!!  And if you are heading to the stamping studio (or at my house, the kitchen table) right now to create one of these cards, the strips are 1/2″ wide and the greeting is from Greetings of the Season!

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I have two new stamp sets from last year’s Holiday MiniFestive and Fun and It’s a Wrap Holidays.  I thought they were adorable, but I never did get around to inking them up. With the holidays quickly approaching, I thought maybe one of you could put them to good use.

In addition, I am starting to downsize my stash of favorite cards that I couldn’t bear to part with right after creating them.  I am including this Nature Walk card which I created over a year ago.

All you have to do is a leave a comment on this post, or Friday’s and Sunday’s posts.  I will randomly select a winner from all comments left through 10:00 PM CST on Monday, and announce the winner on Tuesday.  I am sorry, but I can only ship to US addresses, as per Stampin’ Up! guidelines.  HOWEVER, if the first randomly selected name is from outside the United States, I will send you a consolation prize of three of my favorite cards, if you would like.

As always, your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them.  Until next time…

Blog Candy, CASEd Projects, and Lexi, Too

From the instant I first saw the layout in the Holiday Mini created with the Merry Moments Simply Scrappin’ Kit, I knew I had to buy this kit.  I did CASE it almost exactly, although there are a few minor changes, like adding a couple of pearls.  I plan to use Christmas pictures of the Twins and Lexi to complete it later this year.

In addition, I CASEd this card, also made with the Merry Moments Simply Scrappin’ Kit, which appeared in the October issue of Stampin’ Success

Stampin’ Success is magazine for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.  It is filled with so many creative ideas.  I look forward to it with anticipation every month.  If you would like to receive your own copy of Stampin’ Success, consider taking advantage of the Halloween Spooktacular Starter Kit Special.  I tell you, the Halloween Printer’s Tray is even more adorable in person!  I just wish I could keep mine.  From the moment Brady saw it, he wanted it for his apartment!  Click here for more information about joining my Stampin’ Up! family.

Lookin’ Like a Show Dog

Little Lexi is really looking fabulous!  Can you believe she will only be 5 months old on September 17th?  She looks like a “big girl”, standing so pretty for the camera!  And in case you are wondering, yes, those are Breathe-Rite strips in her ears.  Her cartilage is still strengthening, and this is a very gentle way to help her ears stand.  This picture was sent to me by her handler, Rhonda, who knows how much we miss our baby girl.
