A Christmas Daisy for Freshly Made Sketches

It’s Wednesday and time to play at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week’s versatile sketch is courtesy of the lovely LeAnne. I thought it would be fun to take a non-Christmas stamp set, and create a Christmas card from it.  So out came Decorate a Daisy.  I hope you enjoy this Christmas Daisy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Creating Holiday Cards from Non-Holiday Stamps
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Dazzling Daisy!  Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter, paired with Basic Pearls and a Rhinestone, give this Cherry Cobbler Daisy a festive flair…perfect for wishing anyone a Merry Christmas!  Notice that I used traditional holiday colors to enhance the holiday feel.
  • Beautiful Bow! A double Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding bow adds warmth and elegance.
  • A Cursive Christmas! A simple, yet striking, Merry Christmas from More Merry Messages, adds a classic traditional look to this Christmas Daisy card.

It is always great to be able to use a stamp set in a non-traditional way.  It makes them more versatile and a better value. And while it may not be a poinsettia, I think this daisy makes a lovely Christmas flower.  Won’t you let me know what you think of today’s card?  Plus, I am always in search of versatile sets. What about you?  Do you have a favorite versatile set?  Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

Jack of All Trades for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week Jaydee has a wonderful color challenge for us:  Cajun Craze, Night of Navy, and Bravo Burgundy with Very Vanilla.  At The Paper Players, we are all about the fun!  So if you do not have these exact colors, feel free to substitute with a similar hue. For example, I substituted a Midnight Muse patterned paper for Night of Navy.  Enjoy today’s card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Country Style
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Champagne and burgundy!  The Witch’s Hat from the Jack of All Trades stamp set was inked in Night of Navy and snipped out.  It was stamped a second time in Bravo Burgundy, and the band was snipped out and adhered to the Night of Navy hat.  A Star, punched from Champagne Glimmer Paper, adds the perfect amount of glam!
  • Pumpkins and leaves! Linen Thread bows adorn the stems of the Cajun Craze pumpkins, adding a sweet country touch. A cluster of leaves snipped from the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper collection adds to the fall festivities!
  • Lace-n-Twine!  Hemp Twine and Victoria Crochet Trim make a pretty pair when tied together!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Won’t you let me know what you think in today’s comment?  And if you need a snippet of the retired Hemp Twine,  I still have a little left that I would be willing to share.  Of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…
