Spooky for Freshly Made Sketches

It’s Wednesday, and time for another Freshly Made Sketches challenge!  This week, our sketch is courtesy of the talented Jen M.  I hope you enjoy my “Spooky” Halloween card.  Don’t forget to stop by and see what the other designer’s have created for you!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Turn up the heat!  Heat embossing using VersaMark and Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder makes the Graveyard Fence from Toxic Treats stand out front and center against a Tangerine Tango Headstone!

  • Rosette!  Thanks to the Simply Scored scoring tool, rosettes are a breeze to make.  This one was made from a strip of Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper 3/4″ wide which was scored every 1/8″.  A More Mustard button makes the perfect center.

  • Spooky! What better way to top off a graveyard scene than by heat embossing the “Spooky” sentiment from Wicked Cool!  Don’t forget to use an Embossing Buddy to avoid annoying embossing powder speckles.

One of the fun things I was able to do on my Hilton Head Getaway was to take a day trip to historic Savannah, Georgia.  We took advantage of one of the trolley tours, where I was able to snap two photographs of the Sorrel-Weed House.  Since the house is supposedly the most haunted in Savannah, I thought it would be fun to share these pictures along with today’s “spooky” card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card as much as I enjoyed making it.  Although I don’t send out many Halloween cards, I always have fun creating them! And I LOVE the plaid papers in the Howlstooth and Scaringbone collection.  How about you?  Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?  Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them.  And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

Easy Joyous Celebrations for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented Anne Marie has created a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge for us.  My selection was straight across the top of the grid:  Christmas – Sparkle/Bling – Ribbon.  As an added bonus, it is quick and easy!  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Easy Elegance
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ long.

  •  Christmas! What better way to express the joy of the season than with the “Joy” sentiment from Joyous Celebrations!  Inked in Cherry Cobbler, it was snipped out and popped up on Mini Glue Dots!
  • Sparkle/Bling! The Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is tailor- made for adding bling.  Because I was wanting to add sparkle, I opted to add Basic Rhinestones instead of my beloved pearls.
  • Ribbon!  In order to showcase the gorgeous embossing rather than hide it under ribbon, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding was wrapped around the corners of the card front.  A Cherry Cobbler bow adds the perfect elegant touch!  If you need a refresher on how I create my bows, please check out this post.

I LOVED creating this card.  It was sooo easy…and quick.  I hope you enjoyed it, too.  Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?  Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  And of course, if you ever have a question about the cards that I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

A Peek at The Paper Players

Here is a quick peek at this week’s The Paper Players card.  As you can see, there is bling and embossing! I KNOW you will love this week’s challenge.  Please join me for the reveal tomorrow.

In the meantime, I will be enjoying my last full day in Hilton Head and the Twins will be enjoying their time in the country!  Pray for a safe flight home.  Until next time…
