A Joyful Tree for The Paper Players and Lexi, Too

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!  This week Anne Marie has a challenge for us to use Frames on a Clean and Simple card.  I used the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create a frame fit for a Christmas tree! I hope you enjoy this “joyful tree”!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Clean and Simple Vintage Style
This card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.

  • Framed! The Rectangular Designer Frame was zipped through the Big Shot with Very Vanilla card stock and snipped out with Paper Snips.  The “JOY” image from Joyous Celebrations was inked in Cherry Cobbler and snipped out.  And do you recognize this tree?  It’s the top of the Christmas Lodge Tree.  Of course, no respectable tree would be seen without Basic Pearls!
  • Jagged little edge!  I recently discovered the “Sawtooth” Finishing Touches Edgelit.  It is perfect when you need just a little “pop” of color for a decorative trim.  In this case, I selected Cherry Cobbler to coordinate with the pearls and “JOY”.
  • Illuminate! Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Ink adds a subtle shimmer to any surface.  I brayered it over the Lacy Brocade embossed surface for a luminescent shine. I wish you could see how beautiful it is in person!

Little Lexi

Lexi celebrated her half birthday last Wednesday,  which means she is now eligible to show with the “big dogs”.  She will make her show debut on October 26th in Sioux Falls, South DakotaMuffy and I will be joining her, while big brother Brody will be cheering them on from home.  Here are a couple of pictures of Lexi taken at class with her assistant trainer.

Doesn’t she look older than six months?
She can do a great job posing and standing still…sometimes!

As always, I hope that you enjoyed today’s card, and that you will let me know in your comment.  Your comments are important to me.  I do read each and every one, and I try to respond to as many of them as I can.  I feel that I know so many of you just through the comments you leave and the email conversations we have around my dining room table.  And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

Easy Heart of Christmas for Pals Paper Arts

It’s Thursday and time to play at Pals Paper Arts.  This week we are featuring a fabulous sketch, just perfect for highlighting a favorite image or sentiment.  I opted to add another Christmas card to my growing collection, and reached for Stampin’ Up!’s Heart of Christmas.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Quick and Mailable
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide x 5-1/2″ long.

  • “Sentiment-al”!  The Heart of Christmas sentiment was inked using Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers.  The Crumb Cake “Sawtooth”, made with the Finishing Touches Edgelit, and 1/8th inch strips of Gumball Green card stock add interest.
  • “Core’dinated”! Cherry Cobbler Core’dinations card stock was zipped through the Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create this warm and rich banner.  Of course, the patterns in the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper Collection are the perfect complement!

And there you have it…a quick, fun, and easily mailable card! I can’t wait to create more of this one. Won’t you let me know what you think of it in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I enjoy reading each one. And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away…

A Christmas Daisy for Freshly Made Sketches

It’s Wednesday and time to play at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week’s versatile sketch is courtesy of the lovely LeAnne. I thought it would be fun to take a non-Christmas stamp set, and create a Christmas card from it.  So out came Decorate a Daisy.  I hope you enjoy this Christmas Daisy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Creating Holiday Cards from Non-Holiday Stamps
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Dazzling Daisy!  Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter, paired with Basic Pearls and a Rhinestone, give this Cherry Cobbler Daisy a festive flair…perfect for wishing anyone a Merry Christmas!  Notice that I used traditional holiday colors to enhance the holiday feel.
  • Beautiful Bow! A double Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding bow adds warmth and elegance.
  • A Cursive Christmas! A simple, yet striking, Merry Christmas from More Merry Messages, adds a classic traditional look to this Christmas Daisy card.

It is always great to be able to use a stamp set in a non-traditional way.  It makes them more versatile and a better value. And while it may not be a poinsettia, I think this daisy makes a lovely Christmas flower.  Won’t you let me know what you think of today’s card?  Plus, I am always in search of versatile sets. What about you?  Do you have a favorite versatile set?  Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…
