Blog Candy and a Peek at the PPA

It’s Wednesday and time for a little peek at this week’s Pals Paper Arts card.  I have taken a break from the red and green of the Christmas season, and have created a Calypso Coral non-holiday card using Designer Series Paper, stamps and embossing folders from the new Spring catalog.  I hope you will join me Thursday for the reveal!

Blog Candy

I love this time of the year. The music!  The trees!  The celebrations!  I love it all…especially the presents!  I LOVE giving presents.  I always try to find something from the heart for each person on my list. In recent years, I have done the best job with the presents I have given my sister and her husband.  One year, I traced our family tree, a year-long labor of love.  Of course, it is not complete.  But in a year I got a great start on it.  Another year, I secretly typed the manuscript of an unpublished book, written when they lived in Nome, Alaska.  I scoured the internet for photos of Nome in the early 1960’s, and contacted Nomites for their help.  Yep…these were two of my favorite presents.  I love to give!

In keeping with the giving spirit of the season,  I am offering Blog Candy.  One lucky person will receive a Sizzix Texture Boutique Embossing Machine.  All  you need to do is leave a comment on this post, or any post between now and Sunday. A winning name will be randomly selected at 10:00 PM CST on Sunday, December 23 and announced on Monday, December 24th.  I can only ship to US addresses.  But on December 24th, I will have more Blog Candy which I will be able to send anywhere!

As a comment starter…What is the favorite gift that you have either received or given? Mine was a pony saddle.  Santa left it for me when I was in second grade.  Santa is a wise, wise man!

It has been a long day here at the Schach house.  Brady underwent surgery today to remove his wisdom teeth.  They had never emerged, so every single one of them had to be cut out.  They were beginning to affect his trumpet playing, so they needed to be removed.  I still have not completed making all of my Christmas cards..so some members of my downline, some of my customers, and some of my fellow blogging friends will be receiving cards from my stash.  Gasp!  But please remember, they are from my heart.  Tomorrow the addressing begins.  My Canadian friends…something tells me yours are going to be a wee bit late!  Until next time…

Sledding with The Paper Players

It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! This week I designed a Clean and Simple Snowflake challenge for you.  All you have to do is make sure that you have a snowflake(s) on your clean and simple project.  Although my card may not be the “cleanest”, it is certainly simple to do, with minimal stamping! Designer Series Paper does the work today, coupled with a Tree created in My Digital Studio.  I hope you enjoy Sledding with the Paper Players!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Let the Paper Do the Work
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Let the paper work for you! This adorable sledding duo was snipped from a piece of Storytime Designer Series Paper.
  • Let it Snow! What could be easier than letting the Snowflake pattern from the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper collection serve as your snowflake laden sky! Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a few Basic Pearls for good measure.
  • My Digital Tree! What do you do when you need a tree and no stamp in your possession will do? Why you head to My Digital Studio.  This happens to be the Tree from Forever Young, printed with my own printer and snipped out.  Since I thought it needed a little extra pizzazz, I added Dazzling Details and a Wreath, created with the Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set.
  • Sweet little sentiment!  This sweet little card deserves a sweet little sentiment.  I added the Warm Winter Wishes sentiment from Winter Memories.

So there you have it! Cute, easy and quick! Now if I can only keep the Puppinator from destroying it!  As always, your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  So please, won’t you leave me a comment and let me know what you think of today’s card?  And remember, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…
