One Fish, Two Fish, Island Indigo Blue Fish for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week we have a Clean and Simple Masculine Challenge for you. As for me, I couldn’t wait to create a Father’s Day card for Brady to give to his dad.  Because Brady is upbeat and a little non-traditional, like his mom, I decided to incorporate Calypso Coral into the design.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Easy Masculine Cards
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.

  • Embossed bass! Textured tuna! Whatever the species…they look a little more exciting when passed through the Big Shot with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It’s a quick and easy way to add interest to a clean and simple card.
  • Bright banners! Island Indigo and Calypso Coral are a dynamic duo for sure! Bold and bright, each color can stand up to the other as a true equal.
  • Fishtails! A trio of banners mimic the “vee” of the fishtails, as well as the chevrons, thus pulling the entire card together.

Muffin’s New Lead

I couldn’t let Lexi Lou be the only girl in the house sporting bling with her show lead.  I just had to get one for Muffy Lin, too! While Lexi’s is pink, petite and perfect for a little girl, Muffy’s is a little heavier and a little “blingier” and looks fabulous with her fawn color.

As you read this,  Muffy and I are headed to Island Lake, Illinois, where she will be spending from Monday to Friday with her new handler for a little bonding time.  Muff has several important shows in a row, so Team Muffy is going to fine tune some of her skills. I will definitely miss my little helper for sure.

What do you think of today’s clean and simple masculine card?  Although they may not be traditional masculine colors, I really like the bright, fun look. What about you? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?  Your comments are important to me.  And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

Stippled Blossoms on a Soho Subway for the Pals

It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! It’s sketch week, and this one is layer-licious.  I pulled out my new favorite Designer Series Paper, Soho Subway, and created away.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Stippled Blossoms
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ x 4-1/2″.

  • Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar!  The Blossom, from Stippled Blossoms was inked in Crisp Cantaloupe, and overstamped in Baked Brown Sugar for a yummy vintage color combination.  The leaves are Pistachio Pudding overstamped with Baked Brown Sugar, another “palette pleaser”!

  • Stippled sentiment! The Happy Birthday sentiment from You’re Amazing was inked using Stampin’ Write Markers.  To tone down the Very Vanilla background, the Stippled stamp was inked up with Baked Brown Sugar, stamped off, and then stamped over the sentiment.
  • Puttin’ on the Pearls!  Pearls adorn the flowers, the sentiment, and the gorgeous Blue Medallion pattern from the  Soho Subway Designer Series Paper collection, adding a soft feminine touch.

In case you have thought things have been pretty quiet here at The Stampin’ Schach, they have.  Some how, some way, I injured my back. I was getting those weird twinges that I had before my previous spinal fusion surgery a few years ago.  So I have been taking things very slowly, and I have been taking my meds, which make me a combination of loopy, sleepy, and queasy.  Hmmm. This sounds like three friends of Snow White!

Isn’t this Designer Series Paper awesome?  Make sure to add it to your Wish List…the new catalog goes lives on May 31st! And please, won’t you leave me a comment today and let me know what you think of today’s card? Your comments are important to me.  See you later this week for The Paper Players challenge.  Until next time…

A Peek at the PPA Card, Shares, and American Boxer Club National Show

It’s time to take a little peek at this week’s Pals Paper Arts card.  It uses the yummy Soho Subway Designer Series Paper…one of my favorites from the new 2013 – 2014 catalog.  I hope you will join me Thursday for the reveal.

American Boxer Club National Show

Although little Lexi did not show at the American Boxer Club National Show this year, her relatives did a fabulous job.  Her brother, Tyler, won the 12 – 15 Month Fawn Dog class.  Here he is with his handler, Christa Cook:

I did not crop this picture down, because I wanted you to see the portrait of the brindle dog in the background, by the man in the blue shirt.  This is Best in Specialty Show Champion Breezewood’s Lord of Wystmont, Sire of Merit and Top Twenty Contender 2003…Muffy and Brody’s grandsire!  I thought that it was cool that Lexi’s brother and the Twins’ grandsire were in the same shot.

I am also including a link to a video of Multiple Best in Specialty Show Grand Champion Champion Sapphires’s Violet Sky in Vegas of StreamlineZoey.  Since the Best of Breed, and in this case the Best in Specialty Show, at this year’s national show was a male,  Zoey was then selected as the best female at the national showZoey’s and Lexi’s mothers are sisters.  Click HERE to watch the short video of Zoey showing. I love how Christa kisses Zoey at the end. Christa is also Lexi’s handler at the specialty shows.
