Red, Blue and Crumb Cake, Too for Pals Paper Arts

Yikes…it seems so strange to be posting a Pals Paper Arts card without being on the Design Team this week.  In case you were wondering, with the PPA’s  return to a weekly challenge, I have moved to Weeks Two and Four.  Although this is not an “official” inspiration card, I hope that it will inspire you anyway, and that you will join my Team One Pals in this week’s color challenge:  Real Red, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide x 4-1/4″ long.

  • Layer your labels! For a little twist, I layered Hearts A Flutter Striped Banners…one inked in Crumb Cake, the other in Pacific Point.
  • Create your own background! Crumb Cake Stippled Blossoms and Pacific Point Clockworks images create a soft and beautiful background.

  • Sudden impact! A Real Red Stippled Blossom, overstamped with Pacific Point, packs a dramatic punch!

Lexi, Muffy and I are hitting the road just as soon as I get this post completed.  We are in Dekalb, IL this weekend.  Keep your inky fingers crossed for us.  Of course, I would love to hear what you think about today’s card.  Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?  And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

COMING SOON:  The Stampin’ Schach’s HUGE Retired Stamp Sale

Friends for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday…and time to play with The Paper Players! This week, the ever-so-talented LeAnne has a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us.  As you look at today’s card, let’s see if you can figure out which choices I selected.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Cute? Classy?
This card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.

  • Perfection! I usually just paper snip the ends of my banners, but the new Hexagon Punch makes it so easy to achieve perfect ends.  All you need to do is just slide the strip of paper into the side of the punch and punch away!
  • Two step stamping!  Bold or subtle…the choice is yours when overstamping.  The large Blossom image from Stippled Blossoms was inked in Island Indigo, and stamped off twice before stamping onto Whisper White card stock.  It was then overstamped in Island Indigo for a perfect tone-on-tone look. On the other hand, taking a cue from the adorable Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo Mini-Floral pattern, from the  Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper collection, the smaller Posies were inked in Daffodil Delight and boldy overstamped in Island Indigo.
  • Tic-Tac-Toe!  Did you guess the three choices correctly?  Here we go:
Friendship (Blessings from Heaven)
Bling (Pearls)
Blue (Gingham Garden)

Today’s card ended up a mixture of styles:  sweet, sassy paper patterns and adorable posies share the stage with a classy and elegant blue blossom.  But in the end, I think it works.  What do you think? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?  And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…
