For centuries, the swallow has been viewed as a symbol of good luck. Why not send a good luck swallows card to someone who needs a boost of confidence or encouragement! It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!
This week, the sweet and talented Joanne is hosting our monthly Clean and Simple challenge. She has selected the theme of “Good Luck” for us. While my card features a pair of swallows, am SO excited to see what you create. But remember, this is a CLEAN and SIMPLE challenge. Before you run off to gather your stamps, papers, and inks, keep in mind that when The Paper Players use the term “clean and simple”, we mean cards that:
Have minimal layers and embellishments
Have plenty of open space
Are simple and uncluttered
Colors Of The Day

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
The Marvelous Nature stamp set is one of those sets I LOVED and had to own. Alas, I never inked it up until this card. Not only does this image make a great good luck card, it is perfect for a variety of occasions. All you need to do is switch out the sentiment. Need a sympathy card? A birthday card? A thank-you card? Anniversary card? Hello card? Thinking of you card? No problem! Stampin’ Up! has a sentiment for that…and more! The Crosshatch pattern embossing folder adds interest, while three pearls add a little bling. Other than fussy cutting around the wings and tails, it is a fairly straightforward and easy card to create.

Nueve’s Notes
Hi, everyone! It’s me, Nueve! I got lots of news. I passed my AKC Temperment Test and now I have a new title behind my name: ATT. Mom said it was a very important test ’cause it means I really am a good boy and won’t get scared and bite and do other bad things. I got a pretty ribbon for it.

I look a little pouty because I am still sad I didn’t get to go to my human brother Brady’s wedding in Washington. I’m not sure what a wedding is, but I know that my Aunt Kia got to go. She was the flower dog. She got to go to the wedding place, which was by a big tree overlooking water and islands.

Mom held Aunt Kia’s leash, and she got to stand up by Brady and Korin. Mom didn’t get any pictures because she was standing up front. She has to wait until the fancy picture lady gets them ready to look at. Aunt Kia also got to go to the eating place after the wedding. It was sad, though, because Aunt Kia was very tired. She has the same disease that caused Uncle Jackie to travel to the Rainbow Bridge. She has Cancer. She had just had kee-moe. Mom said that is when the Boxer doctor gives her meds to try to kill the Cancer.

Mom and Dad are sad about Aunt Kia. They made sure to take lots of pictures of her, so that when she crosses the Rainbow Bridge to be with her brother Jackie, her mother Muffy, and her Uncle Brody, they will remember what a beautiful soul she was. I will remember the wonderful month I spent with her when she taught me how to be brave and bold and confident and how to walk on trails and how to run in the dog park.

I hope Auntie Kia is with us for a long time. The Boxer doctor doesn’t know for sure how much longer she will be with us. But when Aunt Kia decides she is ready to say good-bye, I’ll be there to kiss away my Mom’s tears and to rest my head in Dad’s lap. I will do funny things to make them laugh. I will help their hearts feel better. It is part of what I do. I am a working dog. I am Good Boy Nueve.
