Shapin’ Up! with The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!  This week the talented Jaydee is challenging us to make a shaped card.  While visions of many different shapes danced wildly in my head, I ended up making a shape which was independent of any holiday. I hope you enjoy my fall Labels Framelits card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Labels Framelit Shaped Card
This finished card begins with a 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long card base.

  • Get into shape! I began with a  Naturals Ivory 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long card base.  The folded edge was then aligned inside the cutting edge of the largest Labels Framelit. In the wink of an eye and the crank of a Big Shot handle, I had a shaped card!
  • Between the lines!  The Simply Scored Diagonal Plate can be used to create a variety of background patterns.  Of course, I could not resist the urge to add Pearls.
  • Curled and snipped! A pearled Naturals Designer Button leads the eye right to the curled and snipped banner.  The sentiment, from Truly Grateful, is perfect for the season.

Fall is my favorite time of the year.  Sadly the trees have shed their last leaves of the season, and the cold of an Iowa winter is beginning to settle in.  It is bittersweet, to replace the vibrant colors of fall with the neutral hues of winter.  But with winter will come long days of stamping, without the distractions that the other seasons bring.

With today’s post, I leave you with wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving.  As for me, I have so many things for which I am truly grateful…and one of those things is not a thing at all.  It is my family and friends.  In a season filled with blessings, I am blessed with a loving husband, a son whose talent and joie de vivre never cease to amaze me, three beautiful dogs who remind me daily of the importance of loving unconditionally, and the support of friends like you, whose comments make my spirits soar more than you will ever know.  Until next time…

There is still time to enroll in November’s Lesson of the Month…but hurry! You have until Noon, CST on November 18th to register.

Here is what others are saying about the cards, tutorials, and videos:

  • I received the cards yesterday, and they are even more wonderful when you see them for real, rather than in pictures.
  • I can’t wait to learn from the master!!  I haven’t been this excited to stamp in quite a long time!
  • Your cards were so beautiful last month- even more impressive in person. They are truly works of art.
  • I loved the lesson! I simply think your lessons are a great idea and a very helpful way to learn techniques….it is especially nice to know just how you add those extra touches that make a card special.
  •  As always, everything looks thorough and detailed, well worth the price. I just wish I could be stamping with you in your kitchen.
