The Stamp Review Crew: Chalk Talk Edition

Welcome back for another round of inspiration from the Stamp Review Crew! This time, we are featuring a set that is images and sentiments all in one…Chalk Talk. It has coordinating framelits, so you can have fast and beautiful die-cuts in a flash! This set is also available as a digital download, which some of the hoppers will be using.

I am #11 on the hop. You should have just left stop #10:  Mary Rindal.  If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup at the end of this post will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Vintage Chalk Talk
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Layered labels! The “I’m So Grateful…” image was stamped twice, once in Soft Suede and once in Crisp Cantaloupe. The Crisp Cantaloupe “There’s You” was snipped out and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals to add depth!
  • Perfect for pearling! The Soft Suede pattern from the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper collection is just perfect for adding one pearl…or a hundred!
  • Twice the fun! A double Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla Seam Binding bow packs twice the punch…and is the perfect accent to offset the doily.

What do you think of today’s card? Won’t you let me know in your comment?  Your comments are very important to me.  And remember, if you ever have a questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Next up on the hop is #12, Martha Stewart.  Until next time…

A One-Layer Valentine for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!  This week, sweet Sandy is challenging us to make a one-layer Valentine card. Those of you who know me, know that this would be quite the challenge for me.  Here is Sandy’s description of a one-layer card:  “A one layer card is a single piece of card stock folded in half, no other layers, and embellishments should be minimal.” Wow! How was I ever going to accomplish that?  But I gave it the old college try.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Stamping with Acrylic Blocks
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  •  It’s as easy as ABC! I used Acrylic Blocks B and C to create the colored squares.  A little Blushing Bride on Block B, and a little Pool Party on Block C, and ta-da! Your background is stamped in seconds!
  • Ooh-la-la! The Eiffel Tower from the Follow My Heart stamp set makes the perfect focal image. Jet Black StazOn assures a crisp image against the background.  As much as I wanted to punch out a heart and add a pearl, I resisted!
  • All you need is Love! The Love sentiment from the Best of  Love set is the perfect simple sentiment needed for this clean and simple card.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy card.  It was FUN to make, and took a matter of minutes to complete.  I really like the Blushing Bride-Pool Party combination for non-traditional Valentine colors. What do you think? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?  And as always, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away!

But before you say good-by, I want to leave you with an adorable picture and Lexi’s “Tip of the Week”.  I just promoted Friday to Senior Manager with Stampin’ Up! To celebrate, my upline’s upline, Lisa Pretto, sent me a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.  Here is Lexi’s tip for us all:  Always take time to stop and smell the flowers.

Until next time…
