Stippled Blossoms for The Paper Players

How about a little Tic-Tac-Toe fun with The Paper Players this week? I love this type of challenge.  Since I needed a birthday card, that corner square was my starting point.  Then a funny thing happened. I stamped several So Saffron and Crushed Curry Stippled Blossoms, and was going to do some paper piercing.  Luckily I  looked at the grid again, and saw it was paper piecing!  Yikes! What a difference an “r” makes!  So I just decided to select the diagonol, and use pattern paper and any shade of blue.  I happened to have two large blue flowers already stamped, so I used them, and added a few of my smaller yellow flowers for contrast. Yep…it does pay to read carefully! Enjoy today’s card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long card.

  • The blues!  The large Stippled Blossom Flowers were inked with Soft Sky and overstamped with Marina Mist.  The Soft Sky Polka Dot pattern paper was selected from the Subtles Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack.  The result is soft and feminine.
  • A banner birthday! The Birthday Wishes sentiment from Four You was inked with Marina Mist and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock.  Transforming it into a banner with a few snips on one end and a curl on the other, adds interest!

  • Pearls! These little Stippled Blossom flowers sport the “pearl-fect” accent…Pearl centers.

Little Lexi returned to the show ring this weekend. This little spunky monkey had so much fun, and was happy to be back “showing off”.   Saturday she garnered a Reserve win.  Of course, I was with her every moment, and never left her sight.  Hopefully I will have great results from today, Sunday, to report.

As always, your comments are important to me.  What did you think of today’s card? I know I use Stippled Blossoms all the time, but it IS my all-time favorite floral set!  And what do you think of Lexi? Can you believe how fabulous she looks after her illness?  Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away!  Until next time…

Hello, Sailor for Pals Paper Arts—A Nautical, Masculine Card

When I first saw this week’s Pals Paper Art sketch,  it seemed so fresh and fun.  And a fun sketch calls for a fun stamp set, don’t you think? That’s why I reached for Hello, Sailor.  I hope you enjoy today’s nautical, masculine card.

The Stampin’ Schach’s Design Tips: Fun and Masculine
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Making waves!  Pacific Point waves were created with the Large Scallop Edgelits.  What a perfect accent for a nautical-themed card! Plus, the Ship’s Wheel pattern from the High Tide Designer Series Paper collection is too cute!
  • In the round! To add interest, the Pacific Point Best Mate sentiment was punched out using Circles Framelits, and then adhered to the rectangular element. The Ship’s Wheel pattern from the High Tide Designer Series Paper collection is too cute!

  • Colorific! Calypso Coral droplets and Pacific Point stripes add a splash of color against a Hardwood background of Smoky Slate.

Today’s card will be given to my husband, for making it possible for me to attend Brady’s graduate trumpet recital in a few weeks.  Kim will be traveling to New Lenox, IL and Crown Point, IN with Lexi and I for the Midwest Boxer Club Specialty and Steel City Kennel Club dog shows.  We will then drive the 6-1/2 hour trip to Columbia, Missouri to watch Brady.

I was in tears when I found out about the conflict between the dog shows and the recital.  There was no way I was going to miss out on Brady’s performance, but I had already paid entry fees, handling fees, reserved the room, booked the Twins a spot at the “Doggy Spa” and made arrangements for Lexi and I to get to the four shows in New Lenox and Crown Point before I learned about the conflict.  I was going to cancel everything, but Kim came to my rescue! He is taking vacation time, and will join us at the shows, providing the needed ride to the University of Missouri! Woo hoo!

What did you think of today’s card? I think my favorite part is the strip of waves. What about you? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment.  And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…
